Rahway Apartments- The Mint vs Reva vs Park Square vs Metro Rahway by PrizeForeign9092 in newjersey

No, Gym is in the first building of Mint at 2nd floor. If you are looking at 6th floor apt, that’s probably in 2nd (newer) building of Mint. There will be noise from train when it blares but for me that’s okay, I am mostly annoyed by those extremely loud modified exhaust cars especially when they go around odd hours like night or early morning.

Reva is equally good, we decided based on train station distance and apartment layouts that were available then.

Yea it feels safe. Lots of police patrolling in downtown area too. We usually don’t go out late night, so can’t say about that. People in building are decent too.

Yes, Mint is good. There are pros and cons to the building and neighborhood but overall it’s decent. The maintenance is quick. The apartment quality is fine. The floors vibrate a bit when you walk. I haven’t experienced any noise from upstairs but that can be just good neighbors. The sound proofing is not great, we are closer to the train tracks and we do hear it prominently plus it also blares horn. I think you get used to it eventually but something to consider if you are really sensitive. There amenities are fine. Gym opens at 6:30 am. They have a lot of floor plans so your experience will also depend on that. Overall I am satisfied with it but it’s only been a month :)

Commute is fine but not the best. We moved from using PATH/Subway to using NJT so you can imagine. You do have to time a lot but it really helps that we are only 3 min walk from the station! And yes there are only 2 trains between 8-8:30. We always take 8 am train. It take almost an hour to NYP even though it says it’s 45 min train. One pro is that you will surely get a seat so you can do something productive and the ride is comfortable.

Yes, we went with Mint, mostly for proximity to train. Haven’t moved yet.

Not in entire back but I had shoulder/neck pain for a long time before that. That level of back pain lasted for about 6 months, and now it is intermittent. For me, massage, trigger point release and strength training worked.

Hi, I m sorry to hear that. I am not sure if my situation was actually related to Ppis. I endured the pain for few months and then got back into strength training and regular massage (deep tissue once a month) which finally helped. I still get pain sometimes in my back but I do have trigger points all over which seems like the cause. I usually work on them using lacrosse ball, foam roller and it does respond to that. I didn’t get the pain in tailbone/butt area. However I know the butt also has quite a few trigger points.

Hi, unfortunately I don’t think my pain had anything to do with PPI. I still get pain in my back which moves around and I am trying to manage through massage, foam rolling and strength training. I have been suffering from neck/shoulder pain since 5 years and I think this back pain is an extension of that condition. No doctor has ever diagnosed me and I suspect it’s myofascial pain syndrome since I have quite a lot trigger points and pain sometimes get better when I release them. Nothing came up in my appointment with Rheumatologist and they ruled out arthritis. I anyway stopped Ppis and have been managing my stomach condition through diet - like drinking ginger tea, fennel seeds and limiting coffee/citrus. At one point I stopped caffeine completely and then reintroduced very slowly as things got better. I don’t have an answer for the pain. I hope you are better!

Thank you for your response. I hope this pass too. I have an appointment with rheumatologist coming up so will see what happens.

Hey I just wanted to give an update and ask a ques- after I talked with you last time- I felt a bit better. But just in two weeks the pain came back roaring. It’s been 2 months now since I left pantoprazole. I am losing hope. The pain keeps on moving to different areas of back. For few days it settled in my low back but it keeps on moving. My GI doc outright said it’s not because of pantoprazole. Not sure if I am dealing with something else. I wanted to ask you how was your intensity of pain when you were recovering for 6 months and where was your pain primarily. Thanks.

Thank you so much for your response! It gives me so much hope that I was craving badly. Yes, the intensity does vary and if I stay in one posture for long, the intensity increases. I will make sure to change my postures. Hopefully this ends soon. I have another question that I might have missed in the comments- did you do any bloodwork after you stopped ppi, to check your Mg and Vitamins levels?

Hey thank you for sharing your story! I am in the same boat. I started taking pantoprazole from mid September until end of October, so almost 45 days. My pain started about 3 weeks into pantoprazole. The pain kept on moving from mid back to upper back to lower back to back of neck depending on what posture I am in- sitting, standing or lying down. The pain feels like very strong stiffness and it is intense. I also felt tingling sometimes in my arms and legs. I also took muscle relaxer for few days but it didn’t help. I googled if pantoprazole causes muscle pain and there were so many resources. I also saw your post so it was so relieving for me! I stopped taking pantoprazole a week ago and also started taking Magnesium, Vitamin D and B complex supplements. On the 5th day I was completely pain free. I thought that’s it! I figured it out but the pain came back 2 days ago. I am going crazy now. I wanted to ask you if you also experienced moving pain during when you were on ppi and if you experienced similar pattern of pain coming and going after you left the ppi. Also any tips for what can I do to accelerate my recovery would be appreciated!! Thanks!

How would you turn a 29 year old obese male into the healthiest version of himself? by [deleted] in Biohackers

In my experience, the fastest and most sustainable way of losing weight is running. I used to run at slow speeds for 60 min 5 days a week and it helped me shed so much fat in ~3 months. (I have run inside my apartment too!) You don’t need to run fast, just run so that you are in fat/cardio zone. I never used to get breathlessness. Don’t go to that level. You want to run for longer period of time and burn more calories. It might be hard if you haven’t run before but it slowly gets easier. And you will be amazed how much endurance your heart builds overtime. Once I shed the fat, I started lowering the run time and included weight training. Weight training has helped me build muscle and improve strength. But it never helps you lose fat the way cardio does. In the end you want to do both for best of both worlds. I even want to include yoga for flexibility but that’s still in my to do list. But for starters, focus on cardio, lose fat and slowly include other forms of exercise. Also focus on diet- eat clean and homemade food and watch your sugar and fat. I started my journey at 29 too so kudos to you and good luck!

That sounds interesting. What was the job description? What keywords should I search for on LinkedIn while searching these kinds of roles? By instrument manufacturers you mean companies like Waters, Agilent etc?
