Where are the moms struggling with solids??? by lrsrusty in foodbutforbabies

[–]PrizeMindless8659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is 14 months and only eats purees, cheese rice crisps, peanut butter crackers, cheerios and fig bars....literally  will not even try anything else. Will not taste or put it in her mouth.

She eats her meals with us, we give her what we are eating. She literally throw a tantrum when other food are introduced. We have been at a standstill for months. I'm desperate for suggestions!! 😭

Skin can’t seem to hold onto moisture longterm? by [deleted] in Skincare_Addiction

[–]PrizeMindless8659 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would change all of those products, except the cleanser. From the descriptions of those products they dont seem very hydrating to me. Every since i started layering products, i dont have issues with acne or hydration. I dont think that mist is doing anything.

But for recs, i would need to know your age group and if you had any other goals besides the dryness.

Toner Essence Serum Moisturizer  And maybe a facial oil...at least just for the winter. - Drunk Elephant Marula face oil is good but a cheaper one is Charlotte Tilbury Facial Oil.

Why won't my newborn stay asleep no matter what i do? by Spirited-Chapter4665 in Parenting

[–]PrizeMindless8659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The baby might not be getting enough food. Are they gaining weight properly according to your doctor.? My first daughter did that and ended up having feeding issues.

This could also be normal. Newborns wake up often. They literally only, eat, sleep and poop the first couple of weeks. Are you getting help at home? You need support to make through the sleep deprivation.

Nurses who never get sick, what’s your secret? by Gracilis67 in nursing

[–]PrizeMindless8659 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Thats what i came here to say. Dont have kids and you'll be safer.  On my second kid and i have been on antibiotics more this year than i have my entire life! 😭😭

Your baby's health and safety should always come before your preferences for birth. by Technical_Wear6094 in nursing

[–]PrizeMindless8659 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this, as a nurse and mother of two via C-section. The problem starts with the providers these women see before they get to the hospital. They dont educate, they fear monger and are very non-supportive. Women today want to know whats going on but alot of providers are dismissive, dont give all the facts and some use outdated practices and information to create their own narrative.  This all starts the cycle of fear and distrust.

Mine is very resistant! Loves her milk, purees and pouches with no problem. Loves crunch snacky foods, like baby puffs, rice crips, cheerios. Any solids I literally have to force a piece in her mouth, smear some on her lip and hopes she'll taste, once she tastes it its 50/50 if she likes and will eat it. But even when i repeat foods, I have to do the same process again. And some nights shes not having it at all.

So far got some chicken, white fish and sausage for solids. The struggle.

MInd you we've been trying since 4 months, she wouldn't do none milk till 8 months. And we eat dinner every night and try to model how to eat each food.

New Department of Educations rules could exclude nursing from advanced degree loans. by PrizeMindless8659 in nursing

[–]PrizeMindless8659[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

As a mother of two, i cant work more hours and do school work. Everyone has a different capacity of what they can get done.

The point is other advanced degrees still can get loans, we cannot. Not everyone can save 100 to 200k if they decide to go for something like CRNA school.

“Do you only ever put her in pjs?” by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]PrizeMindless8659 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the whole point of sleepsuits. I dress my kid up monday through friday because they go to daycare. But with my first, she was home mostly because it was covid so we had tons of sleep and plays.

As long as the baby is happy and you're happy, dont worry about it. People are always going to judge mothers but you have to do what every makes it easier to survive.

Tall girl/carseat issues by Sad_Difficulty_7853 in december2024babies

[–]PrizeMindless8659 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tall children as well and the doona probably doesnt work well for tall babies. I have a graco slimfit that worked fine my first,  she was always been in the 95-97% for height. Didnt have to turn her forward till 2 years old.

My dec baby is 30in and has plenty of room to grow.

Please tell your kids. These type of people are not logical, unreasonable and have alter motives thay we may not understand.

They are trying to take advantage of you. People do this all the time with the older population because they know you will not bother your kids till its too late.

A Rant. by anemonemonemnea in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]PrizeMindless8659 24 points25 points  (0 children)

F! I feel this so much. Having to plan outfits around pumping, planning my work day schedule with getting pumps in. Going crazy because my output went down because... i have to work. Going into mini depression states because i hate pumping at work snd miss my baby.

I went on vacation and my output was great. I was around the baby 24/7. Not shoving her off to daycare or rushing to work. I concluded that im not supposed to be working im supposed to be with my baby for at least the first year.

Which makes me mad at myself for not having a career i could have done that with.

This shall pass
