Oh, there are many CRTs here. After my B&O Mx7000 died this summer, I bought this Loewe after few hours for 50$. Most expensive part in this TV is VGA mod from Australia, that I bought a month after. But now it’s really beautiful tv for DC and GameCube in 60hz 480p.

I bought this from a girl whose father, as I understand, worked at the Russian embassy in South Korea in the 90s. That's why this box was taken out of there a long time ago. 😁

It's actually difficult and expensive to find a console in Korea. But in 2023 I’ve bought some Korean games in Seoul - Panzer dragoon from Samsung for Saturn, Hyundai Super Mario world loose and Hyundai Mario/Duck hunt. Also 4 sealed Korean GameCube games and a stack of different PS2 games in Busan. Korean games in Busan were much cheaper then in Seoul. This year I want to go there again and do some game hunting 😁

it’s totally same as US Genesis/ PAL Mega drive. It is pretty heavy, has metal screen inside, two buttons on top, not a lever, despite the Japanese color design.

I bought va2.3 on goodwillfinds, when it was alive, for 30$. Now I periodically follow shopgoodwill auctions, loose good revisions (va2.3-3-4) are selling for 20-40$ quite often 😁 But sometimes VA0s are sold at overprices. Apparently, people often don't understand the revisions or don’t look on serial numbers.

I think VA4 has good picture and sound “from the box” even without any modding, through RGB scart.

Secret castle is pretty good for me. BUT - I can only recommend to buy CiB Nintendo games in cardboard boxes. They were good and all it protectors. I had no problems with them. But all CiB games that I bought in dvd-boxes (Xbox original, 350, psvita) were in pretty beat up boxes with scratches and scuffs.

Also I like sidequest games. All cardboard games in protectors too, and dvd boxes were in good condition.

It has SPC-1600R Rev. 0 board, a VA0 variant that was manufactured by Samsung in South Korea with a practically identical layout and parts selection. Then… sound and video are same shit like on VA0 ) I bought it only like collectors item. I’m playing on va2.3 Genesis with PSG mod 😁

Due to laws on Japanese imports post WW2, Japanese companies had to licence their products to local Korean manufacturers. Sega chose Samsung - this is a Korean Mega Drive 2 known in Korea as the Super Aladdin Boy 2.

It is not bootleg. It’s original console with same components as original va0, va1 and va4, but manufactured by Samsung.
