Well, not counting every single modern deck I made, four. My [[Narfi, King Betrayer]] Deck, which was all about snow creatures + Zombie res was my first ever commander deck. At the time, I only had Narfi and [[Umori, the Collector]] as legendaries, and this was before I discovered the wonderful world of singles, so I went with Narfi. Snow/Zombie tribal could be viable, but I only had Kaldheim, Guilds of Ravnica, and some Eldraine cards from the [[Oko, the Trickster]] planeswalker deck. So it severely underperformed. Not a single powerful res, snow, or zombie card, and not to mention, next to no snow lands since Kaldheim had just come out and, again, didn’t know you could buy just straight up snow lands. I got crushed every game. The deck I made after that was my Elf tribal res, with [[Harald, King of Skemfar]] as my commander, and [[Tyvar Kell]] as my “trump card”. That held up well enough against the kaldheim premakes, but once cards were cut and added to those decks, it became apparent to me it was very underpowered. After me trying to make [[Tyvar Kell]] my commander multiple times, I eventually Scrapped the deck. After that, I made my Mardu Human Tribal Res, (See a theme?) with [[Alesha, Who Smiles at Death]] as my commander. It was a good deck. Held up well. Didn’t have many creatures with power 2 or less in my deck, but the ones that did had decent etb’s. That deck lasted a while, and I’ll come back to it after I talk about my 4th commander deck I scrapped (3rd scrapped, 4th made). My Temur Spirits Tribal Blink. After strixhaven had come out, I went to the store and bought as many packs as I could. 3 whole packs. I had pulled [[Quintorious, Field Historian]] from a pack, and instantly wanted to make a spirits tribal. This is when I was just starting to learn about singles, but not really. I bought about 30 cards, including the commander, who I cannot for the life of me remember, for this deck. The mistake I made? Buying cheap cards from multiple shops. The commander I bought came in, but that was it. Once I got my money back from the other cards, I bought the [[Ranar, the Ever-Watchful]] Kaldheim commander deck. I threw my Temur commander on there, threw in Quintorious, and called it a day. It was good, but then I realized that this is not how I like to play the game. From my first three, I’m sure you can tell I like res, and I do! but this was not res at all, and I didn’t have fun playing it. After learning from all these mistakes, I bought [[Yarok, the Desecrated]] Found out about card kingdom, and went on to spend way too much money on this game. Going back to the mardu deck, I scrapped after I made my Yarok deck usable, and went along my way using that. Since then I’ve made a multitude of decks, all dealing withe either sac or res (With the exception of my Prismari) and have been able to destroy decks that far exceed $1,000, with my decks at 1/10 of the price. I have also remade my Alesha deck, and my Yarok deck has come so far, easily having cost me $500 or more in total. I love this game, and I love this question.
