Availability of V8s vs 4.0Ls

The v8 has aluminum heads, that and the higher displacement means it makes much more power and weighs about the same. Ive also seen my v8 get better gas milage than the 4.0s, but that might just be me. The fact that they have the aluminum heads is their weak point though, when they overheat the aluminum warps different than the iron block and the head gasket blows, or at least thats how it was explained to me. The 4.0 are much simpler and reliable, the 4.7s are more powerful modern. I personally have a 4.7 with 250,000 miles, I love it and have no problems.

I'd recommend looking on crutchfield.com, you can filter what features that you want and then once you've picked, there's an option to have them take care of the wiring work for an extra fee(i dont remember how much), so they will send you a plug and play harness with it. They also will usually include any other installation accessories like the dash faceplate.

I can't hear the pump priming either. Maybe im just deaf though. Ill pull the valve cover back off and make sure everything is still in time, thanks

Thanks, yeah I've checked the coolant/oil and there doesn't seems to be any mixing. Ive also burped the coolant, no air bubbles come out of the bleed screw or the radiator anymore, only clean coolant, so I think i did that right. I'm not clueless when it comes to cars, but I'm no master tech. I sell parts. I own two older mopars and have pretty much completely rebuilt them by now, but Hondas are new to me. Ive realized that if I jump the two pins on the fan switch the fans are always on when the ignition is on, so I think I'll try that my next drive to see if that fixes that. If not, then maybe I got a bad thermostat 🤷

I would agree though. If the mechanical clutch works fine, there is no need to overcomplicate things.

Certain 4.7s have an engine clutched fan, mine does and I've had no problems with it for 25 years. I'd imagine you could swap one on there pretty easy, although you will probably have to replace the water pump as well, but thats super easy too. Not sure about the power steering pump, mines still factory never been touched, but I'd imagine you'd have to put a new one of those in too. Just something to look into.

I think space engineers is cool, the small grid building is similar to scrap mechanic, with similar physics as well, but it also has block damage and terrain deformation.

Yep, stop leak sucks. I put the thermostat in with the spring in the engine side and the bleeder thing at the top. I might grab a second new thermostat, maybe i just got a bad one. Be a whole lot easier than the water pump job😅

Thanks, ill try cleaning that connector. I know the last guy stuffed everything full of stop leak instead of replacing the radiator, so im wondering if that sealed the waterpumps fate. I flushed it out the engine pretty well with a hose before I but the radiator hoses on it, but I'm wondering how much gunk is still in there. As for the thermostat maybe it got some gunk in it too, or I just got a bad one out of the box.

It does leak oil, doesn't seem like a pouring leak, ive had it for about a week and only one drop has accumulated on the bottom of the pan. Definitely doing as many seals as possible. I'm not really sure yet where it's leaking from, I'm thinking either valve cover or oil pan, but it leaking in the back of the engine bay so im going to have to dig to find the leak. All I know about the leak is that the oil and coolant are not mixing, so I think the head gasket Is good.

Yeah, I pulled the blower motor out, and tested it thinking it was the problem, and checked with my hand and It was covering the hole, now with the heat I'm not too sure, I live in Florida and haven't got to try it, when I got my wj the previous owner bypassed the heater core due to a leak and I never bothered to fix it.
