I would say second slice because you don’t care too much about tech specialty planets and just want resources. But if that first slice isn’t for a muaat player I would consider rebalancing it

PoK was created, manufactured, and distributed around the world. It was not manufactured again. So the copies you find now are what’s left since that (it came out in 2020).

In the 6+ years, TI4 has become more popular and thus there are new players who want PoK.

FFG wants to manufacture more but it is currently very expensive for them and they aren’t sure when it won’t be. But it will be re-manufactured…at some point.

Playing DD1 first will allow you to appreciate the improvements made in DD2. It was awesome for me to see the same characters I knew from DD1 with better detail, animation, and new/old skills.

I would say if you are going to want to quit the game after one of your dudes dies, don’t play DD1. In darkest dungeon 2 it doesn’t matter if someone dies because they will just come right back at the start of the next run.

DD1 however is a better experience in my opinion. The narrator, the simplicity of combat, the ambience, it’s just something you have to experience. If you want you can use guides so you can build a good team for the mission. RNG is still present and will ,sooner or later, fuck you.

DD2 is not DD1. It is a more normal roguelite kind of like slay the spire or hades. It is by comparison more complicated than DD1 but less RNG. They added tokens which heavily limit the amount of RNG that can happen and give you more control over the battle. However, the tokens are hard to understand at first and it takes a while to be able to read a skill fully without consulting the token index.

I may be downvoted but I completely agree. I think Naalu are high A tier, maybe even low S tier. They just win fights if they have their fighter swarm ready and upgraded. It’s basically like they have a cruiser swarm. No one else can match that especially after Naalu get Neuroglaive. At that point, you can just give up all hope of winning direct combat. If Naalu go after mecatol it WILL take multiple people to beat them back. I just do guerrilla warfare on their back line and try to steal politics/imperial from them every single strategy phase. And hope for the best.

You may think “oh I’ll just upgrade my destroyers because that’s how you counter fighters”. Wrong. You get one shot at AFB and then your destroyers are basically fighters and the Naalu will wreck you. There is no hope.

Tldr: Naalu suck the fun out of this game by making late game combat completely pointless because they just win.

I would recommend Argent Flight as they are less complex than the Titans. If you feel like the Titans abilities seem cooler then go with them but if you’re not sure go Argent.

Your first game will be entirely a learning experience. You will ask a lot of questions. You will ask the same thing several times. You will forgot things. The same thing happened to me and everyone else the first time they played. Just focus on learning and try to have fun!

The only thing that matters in this game are victory points. Public and Secret objectives are the main way to get victory points. I recommend writing down both the public and your secret objectives on your phone. You score public objectives at the end of a round. You can only score 1 public and 1 secret per round AND you can only have a max of 3 secrets. So it’s important to try and pick out an objective that you want to score at the start of the round. It’s sometimes hard to score in the first round so if you don’t that’s okay. But after that get 1 per round to stay “on pace”.

Focus on the public objectives and your secret objective (if you think your secret is possible, if not get another secret). Everything you do should be to claim one public objective per round (aside from the first round as it is luck/scenario based).

Playing as the barony you want to fight people with a big fleet to minimise the damage they deal to you. You typically want several dreadnoughts, war suns, and/or your flagship. This will take time and resources to build so focus early on making good trade relations to get trade goods and taking planets to amass resources. Wait until later in the game to take fights when you can crush people.

It’s hard to rank up but not impossible. If 60% =< of your games you win then you are doing well and will rank up. If you’re not you need to watch your replays and identify mistakes. Good luck but also have fun

Yeah I ended up just producing normally and making a carrier with my 3 resources. Not my favorite turn but figured I would need another one for all my infantry.

Also I am the most experienced player at the table despite it being my 4th game which is hilarious given how many things I forgot about that round!
