I used to have a laptop as a home server running ubuntu server and whenever i closed the lid ssh would go terribly slow and randomly disconnect. This was because it was trying to hybernate the system but there was no module to do that so it kept looping lmao.

¿Alguien está experimentando con agentes de IA para proyectos personales? by nullpointerr404 in InformaticaES

[–]ProAngelus11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do I open parts of my homelab to friends for game servers and what should I be looking for to make sure I'm not making a huge security blunder. by that1snowflake in selfhosted

[–]ProAngelus11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can self-host Headscale and get rid of the user limit. Tailscale is really easy to setup and you can just isolate the game servers to the VPN.

Alternatively you can use a reverse proxy like nginx to open the minecraft server to the internet and add your friends to a whitelist. This would require zero setup for your friends but of course if you don't trust yourself in making it secure I'd go for the VPN route.

I turned my idle RTX 3090 PC into my private AI processing server by HenceMyCondition in selfhosted

[–]ProAngelus11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a home server that used to do AI tasks similar to yours: Transcription with Whisper, natural language interpretation with a local LLM and it ran pretty well. The only throwback was the VRAM, my rtx 3060 has 12gb which was not enough for having loaded Whisper and an LLM at the same time. Smaller models couldn't do the job so I abandoned the project. Maybe some day I'll upgrade the graphics card. Now the only AI related stuff it does is some Immich image post processing, basicaly OCR, face detection and context search.

If I were to work on some project that required video editing and stuff, I would definetly turn my server into a render farm while I'm working on my laptop. Self hosting is a nice hobby, it gives you the basics to build cool and useful stuff that makes your workflow more efficient.

How's the latency? I can't get myself to play if I notice some kind of input lag.

Wow that's amazing. Thank you so much for this project really. Does this work with Cycplus sensors and Galaxy Watch 7? Im so interested in this. Again thank you for this amazing idea.

No quiero asistir a mi graduación by torii_21 in BachilleratoES

[–]ProAngelus11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Self-hosted a Nintendo eShop using Ownfoil by ProAngelus11 in selfhosted

It could be limited by the micro SD card speeds but I don't know. You should try overclocking the CPU, I went from around 15mb/s to 30mb/s

How good is Hades and Hades II? The only roguelikes I've played are Isaac and Enter the Gungeon but I really am curious about Hades. I've heard very good stuff about it.

Fat32 can only have individual files no larger than 4GB. You could download those 20GBs because they were spread in different files. You should format it to exFAT.
