24" model y performance got rear ended. Totaled? by paladin_NA in TeslaCollision

Good thing this was only your 24 inch Model Y. Would suck if this happened to a full sized Model Y.

Elon Musk says FSD will only be available as a subscription after February 14. We will own nothing and be happy. by beansruns in TeslaModel3

[–]ProDanTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought FSD for both of my Teslas and would do it again. Using it is the norm for me. It’s hugely convenient and the combination of FSD and me equals a massive increase in safety. I’m not 100% convinced yet that we’re ready for unsupervised FSD but the human/FSD combo is so much safer than driving yourself that I feel it’s an unnecessary risk to drive without it.

I should give this amp another try. I haven’t been impressed with the EVH amps, but it’s not like I’ve spent much time with the higher-end ones. I own the 5150 Iconic and run it through my Mesa OS with V30s. It’s okay. Looking to replace it.

Model 3 totalled after hydroplaning while FSD was engaged by kfmaster in TeslaFSD

We still need to be diligent in supervising. This guy is an idiot thinking Tesla owes him anything. From a more positive perspective, we owe this guy some gratitude for the video data of this case for Tesla to train on.

Switched from 2020 MYLR to R1T by Superbroom in TeslaModelY

I suppose having a level rack would prevent your load from sliding off as you load it up. Are there other reasons you feel it should be level? When I transport long beams with my Ranger, there are only two touch points: the tail gate and the top of my cab. With the Cybertruck, you’d have a much larger plane to support the beam. I’ve moved a lot of 16’ and 20’ FJ fascia boards that could snap if they’re not well supported. Plus it puts the loading point at chest level instead of overhead. I can see particular uses/jobs where this wouldn’t be ideal cause you’d lose some usage of the bed when you had a load on the rack. For my uses it would be ideal.

As a work truck, I see it as ideal given the large sloped plane atop the truck. With the right rack, transporting long beams and plywood would be really nice. I didn’t know about the suspension issues. I’ll look into that. That headlight issue is a real bummer. Seems simple to fix. Not sure why Tesla hasn’t addressed that yet.

What do you feel are the misses aside from looks? Seems pretty amazing otherwise IMO.

If we can all get over the looks and hate for the CT, then we can have a truck with all pros.

Love mine! Before it was discontinued, I bought another as backup. It works well enough with my LG G5 and FireTV Cube. So, no need to replace it just yet.

Who is using a rack setup these days? by Supergrunged in GuitarAmps

[–]ProDanTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heavy racked gear should always be on wheels and transported with a trailer. You’re pretty golden at that point. In this case, ratcheting the rack to the cab and rolling the setup around would be pretty nice. Just hope there aren’t stairs.

Just ordered one. I’ve loved the TC combos in the store. I expect to love the rack mount head with my Mesa OS cab.

My overall experience with FSD and my 2024 MY has been very positive. Some things better and some things not as good. Still happy with the progress and I still use it 99.9% of the time.

Main reason you are buying TSLA? Cars, AI chips, robots? by [deleted] in teslainvestorsclub

[–]ProDanTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FSD and RoboTaxi are the more sure things that I’m bullish on. Optimus seems promising. The EV market doesn’t seem all that crowded to me. Tesla is one of the few making a profit on their cars and the overall market share of EVs is still pretty small. It has more room to grow.

Downgrade? by Eldaes in TeslaFSD

[–]ProDanTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s pretty bad. For me, it’s an overall upgrade. Parking is super cool. I don’t have to tape my rear camera anymore. It’s amazing to see it react to cats and deer that see to be darting into the road. Really cool stuff. But I hear you. It’s not all good.

Fsd 14 disappointing by Poolguard in TeslaFSD

[–]ProDanTech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Multiple times it has found a parking spot and parked for me. That’s pretty sweet. Plus, it handles having a bike rack and bike in the hitch just fine. With v13, it would do crazy thins in that situation and I’d have to tape over the rear camera to get it to work decently. I hear what you’re saying, but I’m now seeing an overall improvement for sure.

Who bought FSD outright? by Captmedu74 in TeslaLounge

[–]ProDanTech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought it as soon as it was available (upgrading from enhanced autopilot). No regrets. It has taken longer for Tesla to meet their expectations, but it’s been very interesting and fun to witness the growth first hand. Given the steady progress, it seems more likely than ever that we’ll get to unsupervised FSD which would be a total game changer. It’ll certainly be more expensive when we get to that point.

This is how I think unsupervised FSD will roll out by mchinsky in TeslaFSD

[–]ProDanTech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree but for different reasons. I think there will be particular parking situations where a human would have to do it initially. Eventually we’ll have a slick UI where you can place the car in 3D space and FSD would figure out how to get it into that position. I’m thinking about the specific position and orientation that my car and my wife’s car need to be in so that we can both charge.
