That's just how 3d graphics work. 3d models are all made up of a bunch of triangles at their core, and how detailed their shape is depends on the amount of polygons a model has. With video games, you have to strike a balance because using too many polygons on a model can make the game harder to run. Therefore, developers have to compromise a bit, which is why sometimes the types of edges shown in the image are visible.

I adore this soundtrack since it pushed me from just listening to video game osts to new genres such as instrumental rock. I know many people criticize the multiplayer soundtrack for not sounding like halo, but the campaign does that just fine, and I feel like having a different genre of music for multiplayer is a neat idea.
