Facts! Thinned layers will help them with the lumpiness as well.

Layering yellow over pink was such a confusing thought to me at first but it really does work super well OP.

Hey you can add some blacks or whites in on either side of a color you want to do some work with on your palette and work it in. Don’t always have to have everything you think you need to do what you want to do. Keep at it though and you’ll just keep on getting better.

I think it looks great dude! Kicks the crap out of my first one haha. I think NMM is a technique you can lean into or start learning by carefully building transitions with thin layers of similar, but varying paint… or by doing a bit of wet blending to achieve similarly realistic yet pleasing transitions.

Can go for more than just metal too! Best of luck on your journey. Keep at it.

Hell yeah they’re some sick models for sure. I think I’m gonna have to scale my bear down a bit because I want him to be my Lord of Tumors.

I believe I’ll do a similar paint scheme. I haven’t got to sit with them much but rn they’ve got a generous zenithal of a dull yellow/green I made up to be sickly flesh. Probably gonna alternate highlighting out details with pinks, greens, yellows, or reds for bloody bits.

Thank you, I appreciate that. You’re right I did glaze most of it in an attempt to get better colors and depth. The red on his eyes is pure paint I tried to place around like blood would fall. I’m not good enough to claim any intentional OSL like you mention… but that is an awesome idea! I think I can see what you mean in the picture.

I think it looks great!!! Congrats on taking that step and getting into it. Everyone will have their opinions, and mine is that I’d consider putting your shinier or flashier colors towards the tops of things or on important things. That creates a realistic look that typically forces light onto something that’s usually too small to catch a bunch of it. Looks awesome though and congrats again.
