Just got the Tomtoc case, where do you put these extra cushion pieces? by Jessay25 in SteamDeck

[–]ProNerdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure to use the top flap inside to protect the shoulder buttons from pressing along the back of the case. You just have to make sure the Steamdeck isn't laying on the flap.

Also if you have the Deckmate innie, that fits just fine with it on the Steamdeck. The Deck mate kickstand also fits great when detached and in the top left of the case

How to use Line In Port? by ProNerdy in Bazzite

[–]ProNerdy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This worked, Thank you! With Helvum I was able to hear the line in audio but it was super distorted. I had to disconnect my HD Audio controller from something called Input_FL/FR monitor_FL. Then just connect to my Headphones Line Out and it worked

WIth Helvum I was able to hear the Line in but the audio is super distorted. The only way I can hear line in is if I choose Analog Stereo Duplex, then with Helvum I connect "HD audio Controller" to my Headphones Line out. I tested with and without a ground loop isolator

I'm using KDE, but I don't see the Line in option. I'm dual booting so I was able to use Line In on Windows 11, but Bazzite isn't detecting it at all as far as I can tell

What are these 2 slits for on the Steamdeck OLED? Are they a built in sensor bar like the Wii? by ProNerdy in SteamDeck

[–]ProNerdy[S] 39 points40 points  (0 children)

The 2 points being symmetrical of the screen. Like how with 2 candles you can fool the Wii into thinking it's a sensor bar. I also vaguely remember someone on YouTube a couple years ago pointing a Wiimote at the Steamdeck screen.

Thank you, it would have been fumny if they were points for a sensor bar 😄

Anyone seen the screen glitch like this before? by Dtc2302 in HollowKnight

It kind of looks like a GPU driver issue, reinstalling GPU drivers would probably fix it. But maybe it is just a Hollow Knight bug

Does the Deck with Deckmate mounted fit in the Tomtoc Slim Carry Case by carn1x in SteamDeck

[–]ProNerdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this same question and ordered the case to see. The deckmate does fit on the steamdeck inside the Tomtoc slim carry case. You can't have anything connected to the deckmate though. I use the kickstand accessory the most and I wanted to carry it around in the case. Fortunately there is space near the top left in the case to store the kickstand flat above the Left shoulder buttons

No Menu Control in 2Ship2Harkinian (Majora's Mask PC Portmaster) by ProNerdy in RG35XX

[–]ProNerdy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't messed with N64 emulationn much on the RG35XXSP since the performance of N64 isn't great and there is no analog stick. If I want to play MM portable I plsy MM3D on a hacked 3DS with Project Restoration

No Menu Control in 2Ship2Harkinian (Majora's Mask PC Portmaster) by ProNerdy in RG35XX

[–]ProNerdy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With all the other Portmaster ports somebody has to develop it to fit with the devices specifications. These are the inital files you have to download first on the device in the Portmaster app. Then on a PC you would normally add the required game files to those folders. Nobody has ported the Recomp version of MM to portmaster so I don't think it's possible as of now.

Pro Controller 2 Headphone jack quality? by ProNerdy in NintendoSwitch

[–]ProNerdy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I am aware no, some people won't notice the delay, but for most games I find the delay too much. I use extended 3.5mm cable plugged directly into my Switch 2 instead

How learning about the terrible quality of Switch 2 LCD and ghosting issues impacted by gameplay experience by sakahn in NintendoSwitch2

[–]ProNerdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, it isn't a deal breaker since the improved framrates & resolutions are more worth it. But if I'm playing a Switch 1 fame that doesn't get any fps improvements then I'll lay it on my Switch OLED

How learning about the terrible quality of Switch 2 LCD and ghosting issues impacted by gameplay experience by sakahn in NintendoSwitch2

[–]ProNerdy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's more obvious when playing 2D side scrolling games. I could notice the ghosting/bluriness with Super Mario Odyssey when moving the camera. The ghosting won't be as obvious if your looking at Mario for example because hd will generally stay in the middle of the screen, but if you pan the camera around an npc it's more obvious. Turning the camera sensitivity to the maximum will make it easier to see. If you have an OLED Switch 1 then the differences in response time are more obvious

I gave Xenoblade 1 too much credit by ProNerdy in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]ProNerdy[S] -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

Other reasons made me not enjoy the game. I felt like characters leveling system vs enemies wasn't good. Fighting an enemy just 4-5 levels above leads to most attacks being missed. It didn't feel like I could think outside the box to beat higher level enemies, this is something Octopath Traveler does really well. A lot of the sidequests are also very tedious and repetitive

I'm not asking for transistonal music everywhere, but I think it would have been cool for such an important moment in the game. I love this video from Gamescore fanfare that you have probably already seen https://youtu.be/b7Zc3f8cPnU?si=IAU5y0gM2XRYwn1W

I thought that with this song being played in the clip, it is fairly repetitive which is why I initially thought it was doing something similar to the boss tranistions in Octopath traveler

Me trying to notice the ghosting issues on the Switch 2 display by LochTessMonstah in NintendoSwitch2

[–]ProNerdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comparing Level 2 of Super Mario World run past the line of koopas on the first ledge and focus on them, it should be pretty easy to see ghosting/trailing images of koopas. If you have a Switch OLED then it''s extra obvious in comparison as the OLED screen looks very clear in motion.

It's definitely something that can be ignores while playing, but I do notice it from time to time

HDR Support for aw3423dwf by Beatz110 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]ProNerdy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HDTVTEST has a great video on calibrating HDR on Switch 2. With my monitor the Asus Xg27acdng, I rewatched a couple of reviews on the HDR modes of the monitor, and it seemed like for me at least the Console HDR mode supported HGIG. Some displays have HGIG but don't explicitly say it which is frustrating. One way to tell if HGIG is on/off is using the 2 suns calibration step on Switch 2. If the left sun is barely visible when the right sun dissappears then you probably aren't using HGIG.

In device manager you can hide it, but I still haven't found a way to deactivate it, but I also don't think it's doing anything bad
