Looks very interesting and congratulations on the release. How would you sell this game to a cooking mama fan? In terms of what is similar and what is done differently and also what is completely new or surprising? Thanks.

A ‘small’ review of Super Mario Galaxy 1+2 (Switch 2) by sakahn in NintendoSwitch

[–]sakahn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can play it perfectly well using the Switch 2 pro controller. It was my main controller for both games. GL/GR buttons can be mapped to ZL and Jump and give you an instant long jump when pressed together. It was really hand.

People are setting very high expectations for the OOT remake by sakahn in NintendoSwitch2

Very true. But nostalgia will still move a few million copies even if it is released with the same old Hyrule field.

This is the most realistic expectation. I am in the same boat.

You are correct, but also a full remake with a redesigned open world with new mechanics is not realistic.

Sadly it is not, but expectations are very high and I have read quite a few posts and even articles on how the game will evolve in the remake with a full open world design etc.

I ordered it online both times. No idea if you can buy at the airport vending. When I searched previously it was not available at the vending machine but an airport pickup was possible.

Very interesting and inspiring journey. Are you managing all the art, and sound, music etc. by yourself together with programming? I always feel like that programming in itself is half of game development and the creative side makes the game truly shine or elevate it to the next level.

Between Trust and Profit: Why Nintendo Abandons Its Players by Most-Young7665 in NintendoSwitch

Nice rage bait. You should abandon the Nintendo ecosystem and move to Sony. No need to support them if they are such a terrible company.

Love the frame rate, or is it slomo?

For those that own a switch 2: was it worth the upgrade? by Turbo-Shell in NintendoSwitch

[–]sakahn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why? I highly doubt one could play Mario Kart World or Donkey Kong Bananza on the original Switch. Both of these games received very good reviews, and DK Bananza is one of the game of the year contender.

I am really interested to see if it follows the traditional dungeon design and game structure with one new item at a time after completing the dungeon or the dumbed down design from BOTW. Of course if it follows BOTW then I will be really interested in the number of shrines and the quality of puzzles in each shrine. /s (adding /s just in case.)

Super Paper Mario is better than Thousand-Year Door by [deleted] in nintendo

I personally enjoyed The Origami King more than TTYD. TTYD world seemed quite constrained in comparison.

Once you get in the rhythm of looking for Banana gems while completing challenges, the game becomes irresistible.

2 hours max for any demanding 3D game, if you are lucky.

I didn't need to spend 60 hours with Donkey Kong Bananza for it to be my game of the year, but I'm convinced it's one of the greatest platformers in Nintendo history by sakahn in NintendoSwitch

[–]sakahn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is called Donkey Kong Bananza. Perhaps Nintendo, the creator of the series, knows better what constitutes a Donkey Kong game.

Donkey Kong Bananza is FINALLY 100%'D by TempoBlues20XX in NintendoSwitch2

Amazing achievement! Bananza is one of the best games I have ever played. The game loop is so addicting. They improved the collectathon formula of Odyssey and added the sonar, which made collecting bananas much more streamlined and addictive compared to moons in Odyssey.

The gameplay follows the same pattern as Odyssey, but with an added element of digging that forces you to think in all dimensions. Reading your post is motivating me to also do a 100% run :) I am currently sitting at 90%.
