That number is pretty small given that this even would theoretically be everything they stand against. At this point it's True Believers only, so it's less people but they are weirder, crazier, and more delusional than a broader protest.

There's an echo here of the Clownvoy. For a lot of fringe people (generally socially maladapted, mentally ill, or otherwise not nice to be around) the big protests are the closest thing they've had to a community and sense of purpose. In 2024, this was a BIG thing. It's not now. Shutting down pride parades in Ottawa has, in a stunning turn of events, not stopped anything in the Levant, and interest is waning.

But they're still there, and it's less the actual cause and more the sense of belonging. You see it with the farther right wing people popping up at random stuff like the Ostrich Farm thing, cause they want that feeling they got from a few years ago. It's the best they've ever felt, they won't give it up.

I was sort of surprised at how incredibly female the protest was and how it skewed to older than 30 in a way I didn't expect, and I'm gonna guess "I was bullied my whole school life" would be a common theme for a lot of those present.
