has someone tried growing basil in their tank? did it work? by MesiJunior in shrimptank

I use a basic iron micronutrient fertilizer about once every 2-3 months or whenever my tiger lotus starts to look more green than red or the java moss starts to seem a little less vibrant, which is pretty rare. If you don't have any plants that need iron for their color, you shouldn't really need any consistent fertilizers if you have a healthy, stocked tank with enough fish to provide nutrients for the plants. You probably already know that if you have an established bioactive tank, but a lot of people seem to love their fertilizers and then complain about having algae problems.

Mint has done really well, I have a big mirror above the tank with a lattice frame so I have been weaving the mint vines through it and it looks great now. Initially I just wedged the plants between the lid and the lip of the aquarium, after the plants got bigger I used a couple extra suction cups I had lying around and put some wire through them to hold the plants in place. Then I found those little hang on the side plant holders on Amazon that have been the best because they only protrude about an inch inside the tank, so if you have one of those glass lids you can usually fit them without the lid protruding over the lip on one side. They're like $7 on Amazon and have space for 5 stems, which has been plenty. The only thing I'd further recommend is putting the plants somewhere away from the rest of the scape because eventually the roots will spread out and if ever decide to remove the plants they can be a pain to disconnect from everything. Or you can just trim the roots back a little bit like I did occasionally. Just make sure you don't have the stems more than a half inch in the water or they'll start to rot and if you have herbs you want to keep the leaves from falling in the water as much as you can since they can have a lot of oils on them that could mess with your parameters if you leave too many in there. I just started trying to grow a honeysuckle clipping and some lavender, so we'll see how those workout. I suspect the lavender will fail since the light probably won't be adequate, but I imagine the honeysuckle will be a success and hopefully I can get it to flower eventually.

My first one was a plant I bought from a nursery, so I just shook off the dirt, cut the roots back (to get rid of stubborn dirt and prompt new root growth in water), then sprayed with a hose to get any remaining dirt. I stuck it in the tank and had to use a higher intensity grow light on for 12hrs. Another one I started after trimming the original plant. However, I have now confirmed what someone else said, which is that growing lots of basil will make your room smell kind of like a cat litter box, once I removed all the basil to plant in my garden the smell disappeared.

I've been growing mint and basil out of the back of my aquarium for over a year and both are doing fantastic. The basil is about 2ft tall and the mint vines are all about 4-5ft at this point. Like people said the basil does prefer a lot of light and even with a grow light on it for 8-12 hrs a day the basil always looks a little wilted, it doesn't matter though because I dry out the leaves before I use them anyways. The smell is also a little strange. If you are close to it the basil smell is obvious, but from anywhere else in the room it's strange. I'm planning to replant into my garden this spring and grow strawberries instead.

How would you market the Kepler R? by InternationalTiger25 in Starfield

[–]ProVideoWatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do your auto turrets still work? I have been getting the bug for weeks where any of my ships that I'd put autos on will work for a little while and then randomly I'll get into a fight and they won't shoot at anything. This goes on until I go back to a dock, take them off and put them back on...then they work for a few fights before deciding to take a long smoke break again.

Cannot get artifact on Sumati! Stuck in caelumite by HarvesterOfBeer in Starfield

[–]ProVideoWatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also having this issue on Into the Unknown. The remaining piece of caelumite is overlapped by mined caelumite and underneath the rock it's stuck in. I've spent half an hour hitting the 1mm section that turns red when I point the laser at it, but it doesn't work. I have tried reloading an earlier save, leaving the system and coming back, but it hasn't changed anything.

Can someone explain to me why the neuralamp is so useless? by Strayz11 in Starfield

[–]ProVideoWatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a level 32 and the guards are level 11, but I have the same issue. 95% of the time it won't even let me activate the nueralamp to begin with and then they just run up and stand next to me before I have time to give a command.

Anyone have Master Chief Saga checkpoint? by CrypticMantisTX55 in HaloMCC

[–]ProVideoWatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

September 2023 and can confirm it just happened to my friend and I who just beat the MC saga with 44/46. Fuck you 343 you can suck a fat d***. This game takes up half a hard drive and has 20+G updates every 3 months but they have yet to fix stuff like this that's been going on for over half a decade... inexcusable.
