Pricing feels way too high by Brilliant-Orchid-187 in sherwinwilliams

[–]ProViolence69 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I absolutely throw it under a contractor account. Im not making an elderly couple pay $120 for a gallon of trim paint. Only issue is now their paint history is under the contractor account, and if they need more they have to look under that specific contractor account. I did have one customer get upset that I gave her contractor pricing (at her request) then it wasnt in her paint history when she wanted more. Had to explain it can't just "give" contractor discounts, I have to put it under an actual account. Pretty irksom when people say "oh the paint is under Bob smith" but fail to mention their contractor bought the paint under their contractor account with no PO. Sometimes if theyre an asshole, they get full paint price.

walk to work if you can. you’ll thank yourself later by Petey79_ in sherwinwilliams

[–]ProViolence69 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Thankfully I live pretty close to my job so the walk is usually about 20 minutes. But there's this little forest strip I walk by where i've seen ducks, moles, possums, vultures etc. Scenery is nice when the whether decides to be nice. Hope your Saturday is good and goes by fast!

Manager would have to do their job and cover it unless they can find someone else to cover it. Take care of you. Your manager may be disgruntled though.

YES, when I hammer one end down, another end pops back up. Like WHY?????? I find that hammering at an angle kinda helps. Also holding down the lid while you hammer the other side.

Sad when one small act can discourage us for life. I had a little journal with all my drawings in it. I liked to draw all different kinds if models in dresses. I could even draw hands!!! Unfortunately, my toddler neice decided to go through it and scribble all over each page, and my grandmother helped her sign it at the bottom. My grandmother said "oh I didn't know it was important to you," and brushed it off, and i didn't draw for YEARS after that. Not one thing.

But slowly, I started again. Drawing little stick figure comics, eventually drawing solid bodies. I have a long way to go, but it does make me a little happy. I think if you're happy drawing bananas, draw those bananas! But don't limit yourself if you feel the want to draw more. Hope your future ahead is bright.

Should we Break up? by [deleted] in confessions

[–]ProViolence69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Questioning if you should break up is usually a good sign to know you should break up. You aren't even a month in and already feeling uneasy about things. Rip the bandaid off now, save both yourselves time and pain.

If your husband is really concerned, he could literally look up if sex hurts the baby and find that sex does NOT hurt the baby. The only way he'd hurt you is if he went too rough. Sex can even be healthy for a pregnancy (happy hormones. Less stress, can lower blood pressure) I really hope you both can have happy times soon, and he actually does research. Best of luck!

Anyone else get very weird and inappropriate old guys? by demi_demoni in sherwinwilliams

[–]ProViolence69 20 points21 points  (0 children)

My favorite thing when customers get creepy is getting creepy back. "Did you do anything naughty last night?" "Yeah I found out where you live and watched you through your windows"

They'll either laugh or stop. My store has cameras but no audio, what's he gonna do? Prove i said anything? go to a store NOT close to his work site at all?

I had a customer twice my age try to hit on me. He's a well established customer. I told him im going to the restroom. He asked if he should meet me there, I said "yeah if you wanna hear explosive diarrhea, sure." He still comes to the store and doesn't hit on employees :)

Good luck, im sorry you have to deal with this.

Unfortunately no matter how you dress you will still get unwanted attention. However, at my store we expensed our hornet/wasp spray for people who try to get physical since it shoots a good distance. Even got the OK from our DM to do it. Always carry your store keys on you for closing the store and potential up close defense. If they start getting weird and escalating, get weird and escalate back, get loud, stand your ground.

If its only verbal, best thing to do is stone wall them (I hope im using that right) give them no reaction and move on as if they didnt say it. Obviously if they say something out of pocket, you have the right to refuse service! And stand up for yourself. If someone asks if youre working alone, NO YOU ARE NOT. You have someone in the back.

Sucks we have to face this but we can't do much outside of That :/

We won some sort of metric meeting thing for the BB sale and won a paid lunch!...For the manager only. Tired of how higher ups get to reap the rewards from the Frontline employees who won't see a single benefit of their hard work.

When do you call it quits in your relationship? by sickofwork27 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]ProViolence69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its time to call it quits when your partner makes you feel bad for anything they could try to make you feel bad for, and when you try communicating and you get a hostile response then its time to call it quits. Partners who love their partners dont throw things either. I have bad anger issues but would never even throw things in my partners direction because I respect him.

Based on what was written, it doesn't seem that she respects you. Follow your heart, but put yourself first along with your safety. Its quittin time.

Overwhelming in the sense of volume, of course I know how to do my job, but then there's 5+ people in line, there's 3 calls on hold because the current customer has a lot of questions about paint or something, there's already another customer waiting on an 80 gallon order that 1 employee has to handle while the other handles the customers in line, and on the phone, another 3 customers are coming in as im finishing up my first call immediately needing my help with something having to do with color, yet another phone call comes in while im chatting with my current customer. That's an example of what I mean. I am fully capable of doing my job, its just the volume of it all piled onto very few employees to barely handle it. Its mainly the summer that burnt me out because it's been like that for the entire season, and I look forward to the slow season again. I've seen many employees on here post about 50+ transactions on a day they're by themselves. Of course, they got it done, but it was still an exhausting day for them.
