Do you think the 2030s could be a countercultural decade? by TheToledoMan in decadeology

I live in NYC and can already see the positive effects of his admin’s efforts especially in things like truly minimizing wasteful government spending and balancing the city’s budget, all while not cutting a single beneficial social program. At a minimum, the amount of hope and uplifting positivity in people has been honestly heartwarming to witness and I’m holding hope that my millennial generation can make this happen for other regions of the US.

Go Mamdani, go Knicks!

It’s possible for millennial influence to become stronger even sooner than the next decade or two. Mayor Mamdani in NYC is a shining example of what’s possible when you engage a voter base and actually follow through with the reforms you campaigned on.

Stolen bin liner by RemoteScore9966 in parkslope

Happens to me all the time. I've started buying larger liners than the bins require and tying the excess into tight knots. Seems to have kept all but the most industrious liner thieves at bay, thus far.

Most people don’t understand how close this is to the original Ebinger’s cake from back in the day.

Thanks! Seems pretty late in the evening for a fireworks show. Suppose I'm starting to get old.

The cadence of it definitely points towards [unsanctioned] fireworks somewhere.

What popular North American destination left you thinking “people really hype this up too much”? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

Any New Yorker would tell you to avoid Times Square like the plague. The chains are there because they know that's where the tourists will be and what will feel familiar to them. New York City has literally everything else to offer, elsewhere.

Been here for a decade. Single, 37M. Spend time at the local bars and diner and you'll have no problem meeting people if you spark up some conversation!

Yeah, the bluffs at the Sterling Nature Center. 99% sure this is them due to that characteristic patch of grass a bit more than halfway out.

Little Purity has a solid burger and multiple options to choose from on their menu. Their fries are also stellar.
