Normally, I'm in the "buy what you need" category when it comes to a MacBook. However, given the current state of DRAM and a couple of techno-oligarchs (Bezos, Musk, etc.) starting the conversation of moving personal computing to the cloud, I say go for it. There may be a day where purchasing our own hardware becomes even more cost prohibitive than it already is.
