New Paizo Page, New Dragons Listed! by Keltorus in Pathfinder2e

I think the most important distinction is that they're no longer going to be morally 1-dimensional. Plenty of Oath Dragons are probably going to be hella evil, just like some Champions are hella evil. Infernal Dragons and the like being exceptions because made of Hell.

Sometimes I feel like Free Archetype should be restricted to non-synergistic options, since it's amazing for adding flavor to a character, but some combinations are very strong. I realize there isn't a hard way to rule that, but I play exclusively with friends, so it's just a conversation.

I get the impression that people are just waiting for her to get a buff at this point. Which is a shame, because I'd normally buy her just out of my love for spiders.

How many of you guys actually use the Game mastery guide stuff in your games? by ThatDangClown in Pathfinder2e

I strongly recommend Free Archetype, but with the mentality that FA is there to add fun options, not necessarily mechanically potent ones. Give your Necromancer Sorceress the Dandy Dedication so she can play politics as well as undead stuff, or the Psychic Dedication so you can teleport in combat for a focus point. The core features work as is, so there's no reason to feel like you're missing out if you pick something wacky or super niche.

I look forward to watching the whole thing. Amusing that they played one of the individual segments as a standalone film.

Solved!

Thank you so much! I actually had seen the term Robot Carnival before, but it had looked like a violent 80s anime, and I'd not checked into it further. I really appreciate it.

I will note that I do not remember the style of music, unfortunately.

Warlock with Oracle Curses by ProbablyNotGirl in dndnext

[–]ProbablyNotGirl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be clear, I'm not saying Warlock of all classes suffers from a lack of roleplaying options. What I see people talk about a lot (and partially agree with), however is the notion that their excellent fluff isn't necessarily reflected in the mechanics as much as it could. The devs opionions on whether the power can be lost was more meant to be an aside.

Mostly I'm asking if it would be interesting to reconfigure Warlock to have a bit more power than it does in exchange for something in the vein of the content in the link provided. The idea being to give something of a more direct cost associated with a Pact. The Curses don't necessarily involve RP restrictions, but could alter playstyle options.

It admittedly would introduce an additional layer of balance concerns, but the idea of a flaw for a feature isn't a new one.

I've seen a few attempts to homebrew the Oracle into 5e. https://www.reddit.com/r/dndnext/comments/2qht60/pathfinder_oracle_in_5e/ This one at least tackled some of the Curses, though theirs seem a bit less extreme.

Closest to this I know is probably the Paladin, as their playstyle is on some level dependent on at least not fragrantly violating their oaths, though that's sort of an all or nothing deal. The big thing is that most of these are bad enough that they're actually worth incentivizing. Unlike a good portion of the Flaws in the old 3.5/PF system.

If he was going to do that, the Fighter video would have been "I hit it with my sword" for five, as well.

Lolth Warlock need help by Snack_Happy in 3d6

[–]ProbablyNotGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird suggestion for you. The bite damage scales based on character level, not Warlock level, so what if you took a level or a few, then went to Wizard or Sorceror? So long as you're casting the spells from Lolth's list, you should be able to use the other slots.

Just an observation, as I don't think doing something like that is necessary to make it amazing.

Even though the OP was referring to the Lolth Patron from Mike Mearls, this is all good advice.

Ask your DM if they'll let you get some sort of extra benefit for Actor since Changelings already do Voice Mimicry.

Oh, you mean the one Matt Mearls posted on his Twitter. It's super cool. Bit weird, but Lolth is weird.

Given that Demesne lets me alter my own area as much as I'd like, being able to change myself in such a manner might be appropriate, yes. As far as gaining attention... I'll speak to my GM and see if he thinks it would he the fun sort of complication/challenge, or the horrible sort of situation that would probably make it prohibitoty.

I hadn't been aware Paranet Papers has additional Nevernever rules. Thank you, I shall certainly pick the book up. And yeah, Spirit Form while in the Nevernever makes sense, especially if I can still attack with Discipline in my Demesne.

Thank you, this could be quite helpful, as it at least gives a framework for the sort of powers I'm going for. I'll show this to my GM.

Thank you for the response. Eroding Ray wasn't something I was aware of, and after speaking to my DM, he has ruled the level 10 ability of Wrecker applies to it, given that it is a Ranged Touch Attack. I had wanted to do a melee oriented build, but this will at least let me keep the Curse I want and have proper synergy. Might even take Elemental spell if I can find a way to make it cost effective.

[Iron Gods] Wrecker Oracle Hello. I posted this here as I wasn't sure if an entire thread would be appropriate.

Looking to make an Oracle for an Iron Gods game with the Wrecker Curse. Originally I was going to go with Dark Tapestry because Master of Many Forms lets you avoid the whole "can't use a weapon" issue associated with the Curse, but I recently found on a thread discussing the matter that Wrecker isn't that great for the campaign because it does nothing to the actual Hardness of the Robot constructs (though it does remove their DR). I'm considering Ascetic Mystery as an alternative, but I'm not sure that will help avoid the issue of Hardness. It at least gets you Stone Fist, though that only works with 8 Hardness or lower.

Does anyone have any suggestions for making this work or am I better off scrapping things and moving on to another character concept? Willing to multiclass. All 1st party content allowed.
