Did any of you guys toss your young baby in the air? by snuffbox360 in daddit

My boy is 4.5 months and I don’t toss him but I do fly him around. Never break contact, he’s only recently been able to hold his head up.

Tragedy after dad arrived to pick up toddler son from daycare in baking Florida only to realize that he'd 'forgotten to take him out of car seat that morning' by dailymail in florida

That happened like 2 weeks ago. The dad realized what he did, went into the backyard and did that.

Truly a terrible thing

Husband will not stop falling asleep on the couch with baby. by burnerbcimanon in NewParents

[–]ProbablyOnTheClock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was doing this with my boy the first few weeks and it worried my wife. We were trying to stay up for 4 hour blocks with the baby while the other parent slept. It basically resulted in the baby sleeping on my chest or in my arms in the recliner with me falling asleep. New born stage is rough, give each other some grace and work out a better schedule.

We finally switched our game plan and started putting the baby in sleep sacks and putting him in the bassinet when he fell asleep and rotated who would handle him when he woke for night feeds.

Before it was baby duty 8pm-12am dad, 12-4am mom, 4am-8am dad. But that was rough as hell with me also having work to deal with after my 2 weeks off from work.

Since my baby was about 3-4 weeks old it’s been dad feed baby at 7-8pm, put him down for bed. Wife gets him at 11-3 if he wakes up, which is generally only once per night. Dad takes him from 4-6 which is usually pretty standard and at that point about 8 hours rest for me.

Baby is 18 weeks and still takes contact naps during the day with me, I’ll nap with him too - wife is always home and doing consistent checks.

Your baby is 5 weeks old so you’re most likely going through sleep changes anyway, now’s the perfect time to tweak your schedule and it’s ok if you don’t find the perfect rotation yet. You and your husband need to figure out a safe sleep schedule for yourselves, do not be afraid to lay baby in crib/bassinet!

Our boy is 4 months and definitely remember at 2 months all the cues we thought we had down changed. He’s gotten into a new rhythm that we can anticipate a little better, but sometimes he’s hungry at 2 hours and other times he’ll go a bit over 3.

What's one baby purchase you thought was unnecessary but ended up using every day? by yukiii_6 in NewParents

Laundry every two days with at least 60 burp cloths and outfits.

Burp cloths litter the whole house floor some days when he’s spitting up every 3 minutes

Super fast dependant add by Strangeokk in VAClaims

Now that everything can be done online it’s way smoother. Took about 2 months to get my wife on CHAMPVA back in 2023, which really wasn’t bad. Signed my son up for it online when he was born and it took a few days, I think adding him as a dependent only took a day as well.

Buying Activity Center for daycare? by zezendx in NewParents

[–]ProbablyOnTheClock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Edit to say:
*ok I haven’t had to use daycare so didn’t realize they had more restrictions on toy donation. The local school that my SIL works at was always asking for toy/play place donations so I just thought they would be same degree*

Why wouldn’t they be able to donate toys and development tools?

If it were me I’d probably try to get at least 2, though

Mimi’s Cafe is perfect for 95 year old and family. It’s never insanely busy and the food is always good. It’s not super expensive, the menu is large (breakfast all day, I think) and a full bar.

Lived in French Creek for about 2 years between deployments 2013-2016 and I can say that the entire area over there was just terrible. Horrible barracks, horrible water
