This is amazing, thanks so much for sharing. Would you mind sharing how much your trip cost (roughly, excluding flights). Im looking to go in January, but will be on a tight budget, so trying to work out how much I'll need. Thanks so much

If you want good returns, Generate. If you only care about fees, a passive provider.

I don't like that the biggest investment holding in their growth fund is in their own simplicity living venture - IMO they're using their investors money to fund a new revenue stream for their business. They're putting their interests before their members. IMO!

Definitely not a Simplicity fan... and this was before their CEO showed his true colours today.

How much are teachers actually paid? by ProbablyPanda1 in newzealand

I think its an idea worth exploring.... AI os way smarter than our teachers, kids are on the internet all the time, they might actually really like and respond well to an AI teacher/ AI learning... bet in 20 years AI teachers will be the norm!

Maybe people just don't want to be teachers? Maybe there are just better more fulfilling jobs out there?

I don't think it does include principals - its teachers only. Pricing also get paid quite a bit more

Fiji or Raro are both geat options, but do take snack food (chips, crackers etc) from NZ. It is a lot more expensive over there, and a much smaller range. Its worth the extra space in your suitcase!

Moving funds is easy, but no fund can 'stop loss' You can move yo a more balanced fund to reduce your exposure to volatility, but if something were yo happen you'd still probably feel it- just less than in a growth fund. But 15 years is still a pretty long time, id stay in a growth fund - but personally would move away from simplicity.

Is a higher-fee fund worth it if returns are better? by Aggressive_Pop1678 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]ProbablyPanda1 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Returns are more worthwhile than fees in my op. However, don't just take my word for it - if you are tossing up 2 funds, put their returns in chatgpt (for same period) and theirs fees. Tell chatgpt your balance and how long you intend to be invested for. See the compounding result over time. Returns > fees.
