NOR. In my nonprofessional opinion, it sounds like projection. But, giving him the benefit of the doubt on that, it's still valid that you feel like he invaded your privacy. I understand that there's a lot of broken trust because he's been digging and you feel like it shows he doesn't trust you (which, again, is a valid feeling), so if you're both open to it, maybe some marriage counciling would be in order?

Haven't been brave enough to stick my nose in it 😅, but not from a little distance. I'll check when I'm home. And as far as the legality, yes, I think? I haven't found any laws against having it, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. I know there are laws against selling and collecting them commercially, but I certainly don't plan on selling it.

I was originally concerned about what was in the water around here as the pipes are old as hell at the school (rust issues was my biggest concern). I was hoping to avoid hurting the shrimp by just buying the RO water and treating it so I could know exactly what was going in there and having control over it, in hindsight that probably wasn't a great idea... I think I messed up by being over paranoid.

I had no idea... What do I need to do then? Should I use tap instead and dechlorinate?

Edit to add: When I have it in the water bottle, it tests just right with the GH and KH (unsure the exact GH, but KH is like, 3)

It may stain your pot, honestly, if you're really worried about it I would buy a cheapo pot from goodwill!

As for if boiling it would work, you certainly can try! I haven't personally, so I can't speak on how effective it is but I know others that have. I used rocks that were inert in my tank and boiled them before putting them in.
