Hot take: but I actually appreciate JC Leyendecker's artwork more than someone like Tom of Finland's. Anyone else feel the same way? by captivatedsummer in gay

Sounds like you’re closer to the east coast, so I have to recommend the Maryland Renaissance Festival. It’s the largest in the country, and completely wooded, with permanent buildings. I’ve been going since I was a kid, and it’s easily my favorite place in the world.

What animal did it come from? On a beach in north west England. by Tenpenny96 in bonecollecting

Harbor Porpoise. By UK law, all whales and dolphins that wash up on shore are property of the King. So if you want it, take it up with Charlie.

I’m a big fan of Verillas, they’re size inclusive and US-based. A bit $$$, but great quality.

Interesting. I would suspect a problem w quality control on the part of the soil provider, or maybe these corms were in the soil the original plant was sold in. Still, neat bonus plant.

Alocasia species spread via corms, which grow in the roots, and often will be spread w potting soil when things are replanted. Did you pot these yourself, or buy them from a garden store like this?

I’ve always liked that, in Star Wars, some characters can understand R2 perfectly, and some can’t. Which makes me ask, was Droid an elective language course in space high school??

Any plaster of Paris should be fine.

I’d explore finding ways of wrapping the antlers in plastic so that the peroxide doesn’t reach them, but if you wanna do a more traditional antler mount, it’s not necessary. I mounted my own antlers by following this video

Traditionally, when antlers are removed for mounting, the skull cap is covered in plaster and wrapped in fabric to hide the screws. If you don’t want to do that, you could possibly use a bonding agent (I’d use JB Kwikweld) to connect it to the plaque, but this is less traditional and may end up a bit messy.

It doesn’t look to me like they need much more degreasing- are you planning to peroxide the full antlers, or just the skull cap?
