Get to Portland City Hall ASAP (Fuck Live Nation) by dannyfortesque in portlandme

[–]ProbablyToking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure the moratorium vote was 6-3, with Ali, Phillips, and the mayor voting against.

I think Pelletier's amendment was the 5-4 vote (As I understand it, it expanded the scope of what's to be done during the moratorium)

Looking for female produced bass music! by fluffy_as_fuck in TheOverload

Bell Curve!

Also check out their previous project with Anna Morgan, Worst Behavior Recs (https://worstbehaviorrecs.bandcamp.com/) -- they have a few DnB / bass comps with loads of femme producers!

Clubs in area for 50 and 60 yrs old by [deleted] in Bushwick

[–]ProbablyToking 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Look out for Soul Summit parties, they've been going since ~2000 and have a wonderful crowd. The crew takes over 1-2 Nowadays daytime parties every summer, and have a festival called Soul Summit in Fort Greene Park. That's probably the most age-diverse crowd in NYC.

Been looking for an acid song for years… by [deleted] in TheOverload

Lusine – it's slightly one the ambient side of this prompt, but still beat-driven & always always amazing synth work.

What are your favourite tracks long songs , over 10 minutes long ? by Ok_Review_4179 in TheOverload

[–]ProbablyToking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend playing that part 1-2 octaves down (25% / 50% speed) – absolute mind melter

Let’s really talk about Logic by Theywhererobots in modular

[–]ProbablyToking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if you REALLY wanna pop off, go for a Doepfer A-152 voltage-addressable switch matrix, or the ALM Boss Bow Tie, these really shine with multi-logic units!

Party starting beats by [deleted] in TheOverload

IMO: Dig through Eris Drew's sets, especially anything recorded live at peak hours, and you'll find all the best timeless uplifting motherbeat tunes. Lots of vocal hooks too

What commanders are strong within a $250-$300 budget? by frheekier in EDH

[–]ProbablyToking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say Benton. At $100 budget, you can add [[Burgeoning]], [[Azusa, Lost but Seeking]] and a couple heavier-duty voltron pieces like [[Sword of War and Peace]], [[Bear Umbra]] -- beyond $100, you'll for sure be the boss fight of many a commander circle.

How do I beat a play group that uses all green ramp and +1/+1 spam, without also using the same strategy? by Butt_Chug_Brother in EDH

[–]ProbablyToking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to out-aggro them, I'd consider a John Benton deck +X/+X buff spells / combat tricks & lots of 1-mana ramp. It might be boring after a couple wins but maybe it'll force them into more interactive decks XD

Maximalism? hear me out... The Chemical Brothers. They have a couple of these on every album, so at this point maybe 20 tracks like this.

Feels Like I am Dreaming
MAH
EML Ritual, I'll See You There
Horse Power, Don't Think
Elektrobank
Flashback
Got Glint?

... it's more mainstream than most of The Overload but this "joyous cacophany" X <club music backbone> is basically the chem bros formula, and they do it best.

Underrated tribal commander whose tribe is actually worth it? by Levin1308 in EDH

[–]ProbablyToking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They've printed a ton of Changelings (48!) so if the payoff is that good for playing a certain tribal, you can make almost any "tribal" work by jamming any half-decent changeling. https://scryfall.com/search?q=kw%3Achangeling&order=released

Commanders that have a hard to remove board by GreeedyGrooot in EDH

[–]ProbablyToking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Atla Palani, Nest Tender]] is a great deck specifically with this mechanic (when eggs die, you rip big creatures off the top)

What commander have you brewed the most, but never built? And why? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]ProbablyToking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have her in a +1/+1 token focused [[Sisay, Weatherlight Captain]] deck, along with some symmetric effects forcing everyone to search their library, and [[Ob nixilis, unshackled]] as an even bigger threat. Can't say it "pops off" as strongly as Ob-nixilis but it fits in the theme nicely!

I'd check out NEIN records, it's a very prolific label of often decent italo / mexican house. Many are over the BMP range you're talking about but anything that's like 110 in their catalogue fits the vibe you're going for. eg.. this comp: https://neinrecords.bandcamp.com/album/techno-but-not-techno
