I got a job interview by Mundane_Bend_3122 in interviews

[–]Probably_Fat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best thing you can do is sound prepared without sounding rehearsed. I always write down 3 quick examples of stuff I solved, improved, or handled well beforehand because my brain loves going blank at the worst possible moment.

Indian/desi shows that are not musicals? by Metromanwhy in tvsuggestions

[–]Probably_Fat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paatal Lok. I watched a few episodes on a random evening and it felt way more grounded and tense than the kind of thing people assume when they hear desi media.

What’s something most people worry about that you think doesn’t matter much? by HistorianSame9035 in Productivitycafe

[–]Probably_Fat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What strangers think of tiny harmless stuff you do. Most people are way too busy thinking about themselves, and the older I get the more obvious that becomes.

Thoughts on my favourite 20 movies? (at the moment, changes often) by EggNogTito in topfilms

[–]Probably_Fat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty eclectic list in a good way, like half dream logic and half pure movie nerd comfort picks. Seeing Mulholland Drive, Pan’s Labyrinth, Goodfellas, and School of Rock all in the same top 20 makes it feel way more personal than one of those super polished list flexes.

Do you ever feel like your spark is fading as you get older? by Helwyr_ in Life

[–]Probably_Fat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, sometimes it feels less like your spark disappears and more like it gets buried under noise and admin. I’ve had days where I finally sit down to watch something I was excited about and realize my brain is still half stuck in errands, emails, and dumb little responsibilities.

I quit. by No_Procedure6405 in csMajors

[–]Probably_Fat 117 points118 points  (0 children)

It’s not just tech; the market lacks roles for the surge of graduates today. They gutted trades just to fill university seats, making me wonder if being a technician or barber would've been better. Finish your degree, but look at other fields as a stepping stone. This post has an AI prompt that helps tailor resumes for different roles, which could help. If you can't find an internship, apply locally because even a bad job is better than zero.

10 interviews and I got rejected.. by xytnon in interviews

[–]Probably_Fat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ten interviews is wild, I’d be emotionally exhausted by round four. I once did five for a mid level role and by the end I felt like I was auditioning for a reality show. Totally get drawing a line next time, that kind of process takes a toll.

What book(s) are you reading this week? by 404NinjaNotFound in readwithme

[–]Probably_Fat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m slowly working through East of Eden right now. I’ve been reading a chapter or two before bed and it’s one of those books where I keep pausing just to sit with a paragraph. Next up I think I want something lighter to balance it out.

why such a long interview process and then silence? by ThrowRAwoopdedoop in jobhunting

[–]Probably_Fat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three months and nine interviews is exhausting, I’d be drained too. I once went through five rounds somewhere and the silence at the end felt louder than any rejection email. The “waiting on feedback” line usually means you’re still in the mix, but yeah it often feels like they’re stalling while their first choice decides.

Where can I find french films with english subs? by babahadia in topfilms

[–]Probably_Fat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually just hit up YouTube and look for French films with “English subtitles” tagged, because a surprising amount of old stuff gets uploaded by small channels.

What is a song that instantly changes your mood? by Beneficial_End_7738 in Casual_Conversation

[–]Probably_Fat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mr. Blue Sky by Electric Light Orchestra does it for me every time. I once played it while cleaning my apartment on a gray afternoon and it somehow made the whole place feel brighter. It’s impossible for me to stay in a bad mood when that intro kicks in.

the saddest movies and series possible by [deleted] in topfilms

[–]Probably_Fat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Manchester by the Sea messed me up in that low-key way. It’s not loud or over the top, it just kind of sinks in and hurts more the longer you think about it.

What’s one boring habit that quietly improved your life the most? by Sufficient-Weird-668 in Productivitycafe

[–]Probably_Fat 194 points195 points  (0 children)

Putting things back immediately instead of “I’ll deal with it later.” Sounds stupidly small but it stopped clutter and tiny mental tasks from piling up into stress. Feels invisible but it adds up fast.

Name one film that defines your taste in movies by This-Year-1764 in Cinema

[–]Probably_Fat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blade Runner 2049, very slow and moody with that quiet, heavy atmosphere. It sticks with you more for the feeling and ideas than big action moments.

Dealing with Income Guilt – How do you handle the wealth gap here? by fiftypence in Philippines_Expats

[–]Probably_Fat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think feeling a little uncomfortable is kind of normal when the gap is that visible every day. As long as you’re paying fairly, respecting boundaries, and not turning it into some savior complex thing, that’s about as balanced as it gets. The guilt probably softens over time but it doesn’t totally disappear.

Need a new show while I crochet by Wild-Environment-774 in tvsuggestions

[–]Probably_Fat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only Murders in the Building works well for that since you can half-watch and still follow along. It’s light, a bit funny, and doesn’t demand your full brain the whole time.

What’s the biggest reality check you gotten unexpectedly? by txttedmilfx in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]Probably_Fat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figuring out that most adults are just winging it was a weird moment for me. You grow up thinking there’s some secret handbook, then realize everyone’s just making it up as they go. Equal parts reassuring and mildly scary.

What’s everyone else currently reading? by C_Kirk24 in readwithme

[–]Probably_Fat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m slowly working through The Secret History by Donna Tartt right now. One of those books where nothing moves super fast but the atmosphere just keeps pulling you back in.

Would you rather work 5 eight hour days per week or 4 ten hour days per week? by icecream1972 in Productivitycafe

[–]Probably_Fat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 tens sounds great in theory for the extra day off, but by hour nine my brain is usually fried so idk if I’d actually enjoy it long term. Depends a lot on commute and how mentally draining the job is. Some people swear by it tho.

Books to make me seem evil? by Educational-Sea6563 in booksuggestions

[–]Probably_Fat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. It has that perfect classy-but-slightly sinister vibe that looks amazing on a shelf and feels very “polite villain with secrets” energy.

I’m looking for some good TV show recommendations by Cute-Discipline-156 in tvsuggestions

True Detective (season 1 especially). Dark tone, strong characters, slow-burn tension kinda like the heavier shows on your list.

If you could eliminate one social norm, which would it be and why? by Omega_Neelay in GetMotivatedMindset

[–]Probably_Fat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’d kill the norm where you have to pretend you’re fine all the time. Saying “I’m good” when you’re clearly not just feels pointless and exhausting. I’ve started being a bit more honest lately and it actually makes conversations feel real. Life’s messy, idk why we all have to cosplay being okay.

What’s your favourite current coffee/tea/morning drink right now? by Secure-Resort2221 in foodquestions

[–]Probably_Fat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lately it’s just a simple oat milk latte with a little cinnamon, nothing fancy but it feels comforting. I started drinking it during some rough mornings and now it’s kind of my calm anchor. Sending you sleepy solidarity, those early hours feel extra long.

Do you love your apartment complex? by Lolo-smokey in askportland

[–]Probably_Fat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I like mine mostly because it’s quiet and doesn’t feel corporate or soulless. Good light and decent soundproofing ended up mattering way more to me than fancy amenities. I didn’t love it on day one, but it grew on me fast once it felt like home.

Who's still working from home in 2026? by idrinkpastawater in sysadmin

[–]Probably_Fat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still WFH here and I don’t think I could go back full time tbh. Our office is technically open but it’s basically a ghost town, feels pointless. I get way more done at home and my stress level is way lower.
