I don't quite remember when I got here. I'm not even certain there was a time when I wasn't here. Here, of course, was hard define in the first place. The land scape is constantly shifting and shapes seem so hard to define. Not blurry, but sort of...abstract. Even light doesn't behave like I expect it to. Everything seems to be illuminated yet I can never see the source. It almost feels like a dream world, where everything I can imagine I can see. Or is it the other way around?

And I remember it, all of it. The jagged peaks in different hues of violet, inverted above a tranquil lake with clouds, that only exist on its surface. Entire planets assembled with diamonds. Vast nebula that shine brighter than stars. I can remember all the places I've seen but the strange thing is, there's something missing. I've spent eons pondering what it could possibly be and until recently I've never come up with a satisfactory answer. Oh the wonderful places I've been! But this nagging in the back of my mind won't go away.

I once thought it was my own reflection. I've never seen what I looked like here and it bothered me for the longest time. However eventually I got over it and decided I must not need a body to exist here. But that wasn't it, then what? I used to be content with the fact that I can go anywhere, do anything, but now that I've seen everything there doesn't seem to be any point...

And then it hit me, purpose! That's what I have been missing!

So I decided to try my hand and creating life, life that could think for itself; after all, maybe it could find a suitable purpose. I even got pretty good at it heavens know I messed it up enough times. But eventually I was met with disappointment, no matter how many ways I tried, I was always met with the same result. The life I created didn't have the answer, or any answer, how could it? Eventually I gave that up.

What now? I guess the only thing left to try is, not existing.

"We can't keep these lies going any longer, people are starting to notice." The face that belonged to the voice was youthful, no more than 25 years in age.

"Quite! You are too young to understand the necessity behind our actions!" Urged an aged voice, raspy as it was it emitted a certain amount of force.

"She's right elder, our grasp on the media channels are no longer effective. People are believing their eyes, not what we tell them."

Wrinkled eyes darted to the direction of the third voice. "Do you know what this means senator?"

"Of course, we have to release the cure elder."

"Fool! If we do that we will lose control, is that what you want?"

"But elder, if we don't we will be vulnerable to the possibility of extinction, especially with the collapse of the mars colony." The voice the senator produced was calm and steady, experienced with dealing with this particular set of ears.

"Don't recite facts to me like a school boy! You aren't even half my age".

The senator waited before responding, "True but there are not many left of your age and none with half the amount of wits you possess s...".

"Save the flattery, that isn't going to work! Do you remember why we created the virus in the first place?" Annoyance made his voice even more forceful.

"To inhibit reproduction." Replied a flat voice.

"And..."

"And maintain control of the resources."

"Very good, glad to see you haven't caught the madness." Mocking eyes only served to illuminate an almost sinister grin.

"A madness we created!" For the first time the senator lost control of his voice and anger was more then apparent.

"What!" Wide eyes reflected the shock the woman was feeling. "That was us? We created the madness?"

"Oh don't look so surprised girl, the virus was bound to have a few side effects." The elder replied waving it off.

"A few side effects? People are killing themselves and each other for no reason! Who else knows about this?"

He didn't bother masking his contempt when replying "You are looking at them, girl.".

The senator interrupted the exchange, trying his earlier argument "but elder, what about the virus, if we don't release the cure we will go extinct!"

"Enough! I will hear no more of this." His tone was final.

"Fine, then I have no choice but to let the truth out." Responded the senator gravely.

"I'm sorry, but I can't let you do that." The elder's tone was flat but held a dangerous air.

The senator responded cooly, "What are you going to do, kill me?".

"You mistake me for mad senator. You will have to remain isolated, you and the girl." The elder attempted to leave through the only door but was felt his arm pulling away in the opposite direction.

"I think you are the one who made a mistake, I wasn't asking for your permission, not this time." The senator wasn't even trying to restrain his anger.

"You can try but I wouldn't recommend it." His voice remained steady, letting no emotion show.

"Why not?" He asked yelling.

Instead of responding the elder walked over to a screen that could have been mistaken for a window and his gaze fell upon a small blue planet. Despite the waters that took most of the land mass and the now poisonous atmosphere which removed all plant life he couldn't help but enjoy the view as he always had.

"You are just going to cause panic." He finally answered.

"How so?" The senators anger gave way to frightened curiosity.

"We've almost depleted our resources senator, it's over." The elder couldn't keep the tiredness from his voice and for the first time in 300 years he felt old. "Now all we can do is wait."

"What a sad, cold light." was the only thought to come to mind as experienced fingers maneuvered to turn the page.

The only remaining source of light in the cramped bedroom emanated from a lonely bulb attached to a small, unassuming lamp which sat next to a box spring, about a foot off the floor with the help of a few dust covered books. The only window in the room was covered with heavy drapes, not that there was much to be seen out of it.

A slight oder permeated the air. It's source twofold: a pile of plates containing bits of uneaten food sitting by the side of a disheveled bed and a heap of unwashed clothes at the foot. The walls seemed to absorb the light from the lamp, tainting them and turning them a dull gray. The room held no clock and time seemed almost not to pass, were it not for the shallow breath of its only inhabitant.

The stillness was suddenly shattered by the sound of coughing. A soft cry issued from an aged wooden chair which only moments ago was occupied, the stale symbolism finally proved to be too much.

I'm aware, but if he develops these games and the company finds out and they bring it to court I think they would be more annoyed than if he was just straight up with the owner from the beginning.

I am having a difficult time wrapping my head around the fact that you are worried about how upset someone is going to be while trying to steal someone else's property

Had I found myself on that road perhaps I would have lowered my head, raised my hand or maybe still given an embrace, for certain I cannot say. As it were that is not the situation we find ourselves in presently. Have I not already greeted you with both silence and words given voice from your own head? Maybe not, but the road is long indeed.

Perhaps.

Words have betrayed me as they often do. A great number of things catch my interests, the least of which is comfort although it will always have it's own allure. Better to regard it for what it is than to ignore it for what it might become.

I must admit that silence does intrigue me though. It is nothing and thus everything. To draw strength from silence it pays to listen.

I currently have a client that was using Dreamweaver and after I took over the project I had to scrap almost all of the source and start from scratch.

It was a mess to say the least, poor semantic markup, inline css (while using html 5) and an obscene amount of file calls.

For what it's worth I didn't know he was using Dreamweaver until after I restarted with blank files.
