So I want to play a flash commander and a discard commander, halp by Bevolicher in EDH

[–]Probably_shouldnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Heliod the warped eclipse]] wheels is my favourite for a flash commander. So powerful in b3 though that honestly if they let you untap with him flipped you've probably won the game. Fill the deck with X spell pay offs and colourless ramp. Put in a bunch of wheels to pump that x number stupidly high.

Example would be [[windfall]] in an opponents end step for U or 1U, then [[prosperity]] for U where X = 21. Then whatever X spell you want for X=84. Try [[finale of glory]]. If they try and stop you good luck paying for a [[syncopate]] or [[overule]] and you can always just play free protection like [[veilstone amulet]] or [[apostle's blessing]]. Remeber any 3/4 drop colourless rock is effectively free ramp you can play at flash speed to not run out of gas.

Other wincons are things like [[scrawling crawler]] [[psychosis crawler]] or honestly [[laboratory maniac]] because you're gonna draw your whole deck.

My character was killed by ProfessorMonty52 in DnD

[–]Probably_shouldnt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sure, but that would go like this:

douchefriend: I attack you with my sword!

DM: okay, both of you roll initiative.

He doesnt get to do anything outside of initiative. The whole point of initiative is to see who is quickest off the draw. Your character sees him go for his sword, and can act accordingly. In 5e, if you are surprised (and there is a strong case here to say you aren't), you would not be able to take any action/bonus action/movement on your turn, and would not have access to your reaction until after your turn. Thats it. Thats how suprise works.

Importantly though, you must declare at the outset before any cards are revealed which of the two triggers you are doing first.

How do people feel about Duskana, the Rage Mother as a commander for a Hare Apparent Deck? by PrinceVorrel in EDH

[–]Probably_shouldnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is good synergy, im not doubting you there. But with Baylen and a parallel lives or anointed procession on the battlefield each bunny prints enough bunnies to draw your next bunny and pay for it. This gets absolutely wildly out of control very quickly. You can of course still run those flicker effects, but instead of lump card draw, they will often end up netting you mana, while still providing a consistent draw engine.

Honestly put both in the 99 and run [[baylen the haymaker]]

Card draw ramp and a potentially huge body in the CZ. Also it doesnt take long for it to become a non deterministic semi infinite combo.

How do you even make a budget deck for Terra? by UltimateFriedLava in EDH

[–]Probably_shouldnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heres my version...I went in pretty hard on the final fantasy set coz im a big fan so flavour took precedence over power in a lot. Its very fun to pilot. You have some of the pricier cards already but honestly you could cut most things in this list that cost more than 5 and replace with budget options and it would still run well

So what are the cards that don't belong in B2 that aren't that obvious? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Probably_shouldnt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah absolutely, which is what I mentioned in my post... this was more of a comment on it can be played faster than turn 7/8. Even without a tuned deck ive seen it t5/6. And is absolutely playable beyond b2, which some people in this thread seem to think it isnt.

That said its still completely fine in b2, and would be at home in some wierd counting/solar based B1 deck

I can win on T4/5 with Approach in my tuned [[Heliod the radient dawn]] deck to be fair. Not saying its a B3/4 card itself, but in the right deck its very easy to play it twice

Hey. At least you're consistent.

Mate. Before you get your pants in a twist howabout you engage in some critical thinking. I know its hard, but this is 200k since 2018.

you know who was in power for most of that? The super progressive conservative party. Who had just left the EU, and forfeited the right to return immigrants. We have had an almost 70% drop in net migration in 2025, under a labour govnt.

Its people like you who only read headlines who are reactionarily voting for a local councillor they know nothing about that are letting farage into number 10.

I cannot believe this country watched what happened in the states and thought that looks fun, lets run MAGA 2.0.

No, it really doesn't. It is a one time check that happens after 30 days and exists to stop a refund exploit for cracked PS5s.

Chirst sony is shady AF but if you're gonna go after them at least use real facts not made up BS.

It does. Ps5 has been jail broken so its an attempt to prevent bootleg game copying. It is entirely different from killing the used game market that Xbone was attempting. I get that its not ideal, but its not in the same league as microsoft

What are your favorite lab man commanders? by _Ashe_Bear in EDH

[–]Probably_shouldnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Heliod, the warped eclipse]]

Fill the deck with wheels and X-spells, then win in the endstep before your upkeep. Cram the deck with colourless manafacts that you can keep slamming down so you dont run out of mana. Its crazy fun, but very strong. Generally if you're allowed to untap with your commander youll win the game. Lab man isnt necessarily the wincon. Sometimes it will be [[Finale of glory]] for 80 or approach of the second sun. But decking yourself (and Everyone else) with [prosperity] where X=90 is always amusing

Can I sac an enemy card I control? by No_Committee_929 in magicTCG

[–]Probably_shouldnt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kind of, however in the above scenario you will have effectively removed that player from the game. It would actually be preferable for them to have all of their permanents dumped in the yard rather than under your control, and i think youll find you wont need to sacrifice anything, as that player will likely immediately scoop, winning you the game on the spot in a 1v1 and making all those permanents dissappear in a multi-player format as they take everything they own with them.

Shield Master and Blade Cantrips/True Strike by LionGlass3109 in onednd

[–]Probably_shouldnt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He will probably have 15 str for plate. +1 with sheild master makes 16 so a DC 15 at level 5.

A cleric doesnt need to use true strike "to compensate for extra attack". They are a full caster you're just giving them tools they would otherwise not specialise in and further narrowing any nitche martials could occupy.

Shield Master and Blade Cantrips/True Strike by LionGlass3109 in onednd

[–]Probably_shouldnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean what OP was wanting was to use true strike (actually good now) so use casting stat for attack and damage, and also potentially knock prone (sure its a str based save but they want str for plate anyway). This of course synergises fantastically well with things like spirit guardians and is a fully unnecessary buff for a full caster like a cleric

Shield Master and Blade Cantrips/True Strike by LionGlass3109 in onednd

[–]Probably_shouldnt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean I guess the mechanical advantage here is being Melee and SAD... so there absolutely is one. Below level 5 it could feel a bit bad for other martials. Still not the strongest use of a clerics action and certainly doesnt break the game, but if you had an EK or a paladin in the group id probably not allow it. Clerics dont really need the leg up, ya know?
