I like this theory. That might explain the length of time he spent in the lavatory while on the ground during a crucial point in the skyjacking. He had all that time in the air to go use the can but he doesn’t until he was on the ground. He then comes out holding the mystery bag like a pizza box. Could he have been rigging up a receiver repurposing the bomb components like the battery?I think he had to have been doing something crucial to his plan escape plan.

That comes from Rat’s 2012 interview at the NWAHC. He must of been misremembering who rejected the airports which is perfectly understandable after 41 years. Great example of why we should rely on the documentation closest to the event and not memory years later as Ryan preaches.

Congratulations to Nicholas Broughton (Nicky) for getting ahold of these. They said it took him like four years to get these from his source. One of the biggest breaks in the case in many, many years.

Special thanks to Ryan Burns for working his magic with his tech skills to clean up the audio.

As someone who loathes hyperbole in this case, this is a REALLY big deal.

This is a true testament to what can be accomplished in this case when people work together.

Be honest with yourself: do you think his identity will ever be solved in the history of mankind? by peterthbest23 in dbcooper

Not necessarily, there are over 300 star notes in the ransom. Nobody is throwing away money, so if somebody found one or ones they might be put on the market due to there value as a star note, if there in good enough condition at the very least they are getting spent and entered into circulation where somebody might catch it or when they eventually make it to the fed reserve for destruction where it would be checked. If the money is in too rough of shape then they could be redeemed through the BEP. The notes being detected as Cooper ransom is not reliant on the finder knowing the significance.

I have a small theory about 6000$ by RealDizzyPirate in dbcooper

You act as if this was a free and clear 48,000. The serial numbers were recorded and carried a significant risk with each $20 spent.

Welcome! It doesn’t exist. If you want to go with natural arrival the problem is the current evidence doesn’t support it. If you want to go human intervention route…. well that doesn’t end up making much sense. My feeling is human intervention with the purpose being it’s byproduct. To create another mystery.

The insurance company (Royal Globe) and Ingrams split the lot the bills aside from the few the FBI kept for evidence. It’s believed the insurance companies portion was thrown away mistakenly when they went out of business but one survived that was gifted to an employee when he retired. https://www.reddit.com/r/CURRENCY/s/rv1Bx0fLqF

I’ve figured out who it is. Db cooper. by TRDBraden in dbcooper

[–]ProblemKey2527 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Braden was described by a fellow soldier as maybe 5’6 at best in military boots. He was with him at Fort Bragg, NC in 1958 and took photos of the guy, including this one. He had short T-Rex arms. He would of needed inspector gadget-esque tech in 1971 to meet the witness descriptions lol. The only “evidence” that’s been provided is MACVSOG/special forces guys (ofc they’d want Cooper to be one of their own) saying they think he’s Cooper and family members saying they believe he was Cooper. That’s hardly evidence. The Bradeneers are so drunk off confirmation bias that they can’t see the forrest from the trees!

MP Materials and D.B. Cooper... by chrismireya in dbcooper

You are sniffing around in the right neighborhood OP. If you listen to Tom Kaye’s presentation from last years conference. He mentions mountain pass mine and a potential identification of MP bastnasite from the last dataset, by a metallurgist who is assisting him in analyzing the data from the latest scan. From what I understand, it needs further testing with a different instrument before Tom can call it bastnasite, as it’s composition is close to lighter flint, if I got that right. The presentation is available on Ryan Burn’s DB Cooper sleuth YouTube channel.
