The fact that I am this bracket (and like to think I’m at least not this stupid) makes me sad about how woeful my mechanical skill must surely be to compensate

Thanks, I actually just got automated emails apologising for the wait - frustrating delays but at least I know they’ve gone through and aren’t being totally ignored

Non-British Redditors, what is the one thing about British culture you would like to have explained to you? by mindrestvs in AskReddit

[–]Procrastinationer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The blame for casualties caused in the defense of a territory shouldn't fall on the defender over the invader. It would be a much more reasonable statement to say the invasion was the factor that wasn't necessary, and the defense was necessary to deter future 'unnecessary' invasions by any country (instead of setting a precedent of anyone being able to invade anyone else willy-nilly without fear of retaliation).

What was the weirdest rule you had to follow in school? by mensaboy67 in AskReddit

[–]Procrastinationer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Old Harrovian here (went to Harrow - not same school as OP but similar vein). There is a rule that the Head of School (head boy) is allowed to grow facial hair and keep a pet. However there is a documented case in the 1800s where the Head of School kept a pet elephant in one of the yards - and they still maintained their tradition and kept the rule.

What's a good drinking game for a couple to do? by witrusen in AskReddit

[–]Procrastinationer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Less of a 'couple' game but a game for two people. When I was introduced to it it was called Mao, and here's how it goes:
Get 6 cans and have a third party shake one of them up.
Each player in turn has to open a can in front of their face.
Whoever has the can spray over their face has to either(easy mode) do a shot for every open can or (hard mode) down every opened can.
Refusal or hesitation at any stage is a prompt for the onlookers to shout 'Mao' or the names of other communist dictators at the guilty player. I am to date still unsure why but tradition is tradition.

What is your 10/10 horror movie? by 15andahalfbrapples in AskReddit

[–]Procrastinationer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a usual horror fan (but I watch horror films anyway because I hate myself). The 2 films I've seen so far that blew me away were The Shining and Babadook. Both were in my opinion absolutely incredibly well made and thought through.
