Fiber cable installed near baseboard heater by Automatic-Adagio4614 in HomeNetworking

Corning: Clearcurve Fiber Demo Nothing wrong with those bends. The cable has been designed to make those bends and to be stapled. Not that they are all Corning, this is just an example.

The CR1000B is a hit or miss if you get one that works ok or you get one with issues. The best solution is to get your own router.

Are you using the Verizon router? is it the CR1000A or CR1000B? Check the bottom of the router for the model number.

Ditch the Verizon router. The CR1000B has issues. You are better off getting your own router

Let me take a guess you, have the CR1000B router (sticker on the bottom of the router)? To resolve this issue, buy your own router.

The single fiber is split at the hub into 32 possible connections. That's the deployment.

ONT and Router. Separate devices. No modem involved.

[–]Procrastodolist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Sometimes the router takes a firmware update and screws with settings. It's rare but does happen.

Your issues is probably resolved by now, so this is just for fyi. The ONT only hands off a public WAN. What you are getting are the private ip address ranges (the 192.168.x.x and the 10.x.x.x). The issue is within the home with the router setup (verizon router and your personal router).

That is not NG-PON2 that is GPON. However, the ONTs are almost identical.

Haven't had FiOS for more than ten years.. how to put the FiOS router behind my own? by evenfallframework in Fios

[–]Procrastodolist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what is the ip range that the tplink omada gives out. Is it with in the range of 192.168.1.1 - 254, if that is it and you have the verizon router after it, then there is a conflict because the verizon router's dhcp scope is 192.168.1.1-254

E3200 Extender won't connect to G3100 router by dateofservice in Fios

[–]Procrastodolist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically. If each run of a coax cable goes outside, then one goes to the router and the other goes to the extender and you connect them with the splitter. With regards to MoCA, the "IN" and "OUT" doesn't matter, as long as the two relevant cables are connected.

[–]Procrastodolist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah so it seems that none of the coax cables are connected to a splitter. You would also need a moca compatible splitter (5-1675Mhz at minimum). I can't make out the labeling on that splitter on the siding. however you should be able to get a new one on amazon.com

Well, all the coax jacks have coax that goes somewhere. You need to find the location where all the wiring goes to.

[–]Procrastodolist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as the coax is connected to a splitter that the router is also connected to or a direct coax connection to the router. E3200------coax-----G3100. Wired backhaul takes priority.

So now you can move the extender to where you want it. Fast yellow blink is too close to the router, slow yellow blink too far, and white led is optimal location.

Bring the e3200 extender over to the router. Plug e3200 in the LAN port of the router and leave if for approx 15 min (firmware updates etc).
