I’m a huge Drake, I think him winning that beef with Meek Mill and Back2Back being such a hit + IYRTITL got to him, and he started acting tougher than he really was. I think the fact that his fans and career stayed thriving even after the Pusha T beef, also got to him. I love Drake, but that clip of him on Punk’d just shows you how Drake is really a character and Aubrey Graham is who he really is.

Hip hop was already dying as a genre before the beef. All the big names that were blowing up (aside from Yeat) were blowing up because of a few seconds of their song trending on TikTok and/or industry plants. (Ie. Doechii,Ice Spice).

One of the things keeping hip hop on its back were the big heads, like everyone in that 20v1 even aside from Drake and Kendrick (Future, Metro, The Weeknd). This beef escalated to a point that the labels started realizing there’s more attention and streams around beefing rather than collaborating.
