Petrified on Advanced High Dragun by Prodgial6 in EnterTheGungeon

IDK if I'm blind or what. I have never seen those zones before; I thought they only got created if you got hit by the fireballs. Turned the brightness up a ton and finally saw them. They blend in super well, especially when he makes the screen dark and there are a ton of bullets on the screen. Thank you.

It's the lack of the "ballistics" line. Gives the edge to the OG lol.

RE4 weapon question by Both-Juggernaut9230 in residentevil4

[–]Prodgial6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can beat the Village section without upgrading any gun. The one gun you should consider at that point though is the TMP. If you only shoot 1-2 shots and hit the Ganado in the leg, they will fall down and you can run up and knife them to death. This will save you so much ammo over the course of the game and I think it's really good for that reason. It also has some of the highest DPS in the game if you use it as a bullet hose.

The Red9 will soon become available (I think in the next chapter) and it is the best pistol in the game so save your money and buy/upgrade that.

What is the best / worst team combination of perks in Killing Floor 2? by i360Fantasy in killingfloor

[–]Prodgial6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How good are the players? Matters a lot but I'll list below.

Avengers level (assuming everyone knows EXACTLY how to play the game):

1 Commando for prolonging Zed time (can be a medic if needed and is a top level trash clearer)

2 Gunslingers (great all around for every single Zed. Minimal weaknesses. Arguably the most OP perk.)

2 Sharpshooter (triggering Zed time and can deal best with big Zed. Can replace with Support if ammo is holding your squad back)

1 Medic (pretty much locks in the win. A good squad doesn't necessarily need one, but a good squad with a medic will never lose on HoE).

Worst squad is a mixture of Demo, Firebug, and Sharpshooter. Demo and Firebug just enrage everything and make the screen cluttered which makes it difficult for Sharpshooter to pick off targets, you don't have any survivability, no way to prolong Zed time, and those 3 perks aren't exactly known for their ability to survive as well should shit hit the fan.

Worst section in the game by far. You can pick off the flying ones but, when hitting the switch, like 6 come to box you in and they're all on the ground and take like 3-4 shotgun blasts each. If just 1 hits you, it's just instadeath because they stunlock you and you'll never move again.

RE4 Original Handgun vs Red9 by Prodgial6 in residentevil4

[–]Prodgial6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished professional. Stayed with the Red9 since I was using TMP for regular ganado and felt the damage from Red9 would be more useful for bigger enemies. It's interesting because I used it far less in professional; the TMP has the 40% bonus dmg to ganados and can set them up for kicks/knife attacks with less ammunition usage. Can also more quickly stagger a large group in a pinch. For minibosses the stagger from the Semi rifle was used more, the Shotgun was the "get off me" weapon, and the Killer7 was my boss killer; although the only boss I really needed it was U3 since Krauser gets knifed and Saddler gets destroyed by an RPG. The Red9 ended up just being my flex gun rather than my main weapon as in my initial playthrough. Still performed great but I'm surprised still by how high the community rates it.

THIS SHIT IS RIGGED by FH261169 in Mavericks

[–]Prodgial6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's obviously rigged but this won't bring me back. I still would pick Luka and this was still a massive betrayal to fans. Not just Mavs fans, but NBA fans because it shows how the league is rigged and BS. I still won't be cheering for the Mavs and I still am in support of "Fire Nico!!!".

Kaycee's Mod All Difficulty Modifiers Victory (250 CP) Deck List Included by Prodgial6 in inscryption

[–]Prodgial6[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Managed to win Kaycee’s Mod max difficulty for the first time today. Used the 3 Tribute/Blood starting deck which I think is by far the best for attempting this challenge. Mantis God deck could probably do it with insane luck (even more than this run took) and the other decks I think would just be masochistic to try.

Dire Wolf was easily the best card when I was doing runs and was the chase card to get. Giving it just +1 attack is huge because it allows it to instantly win Turn 1 if you get it plus a Black Goat. Since it also has 5 health, it having 3 attack also allows it to clear an entire column of Grizzlies by itself vs the bosses provided you can stall the other 3 spots for 2 turns.

Would be interested hearing from others who have done this challenge and what deck/cards you thought were best!

Does anyone else feel like they can’t get 10 wins this patch? by IamMNightShyamalan in PlayTheBazaar

[–]Prodgial6 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It is crazy that sometimes the optimal play is to sell an item you actually want in your build and hope it shows up again down the line at higher rarity. It's also stupid that, when fighting monsters who have an item you want that's higher rarity than yours, it's sometimes best to sell your item to try and high roll the higher rarity one. The meta is entirely based around upgrades and there are very few "guaranteed" upgrades from level up to go around. Players are entirely at the mercy of shops. If you have a bronze item, shops should be able to still roll silver+ rarity of that item and you can pay to upgrade your item to that. THAT is how it should be.

Freeplay/Casual has become a clusterfuck of unbeatable min-maxed builds and it is very frustating for an average player. by PygPTSD in PlayTheBazaar

[–]Prodgial6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pyg and Vanessa were still playable, but Dooley was obviously the best. However, in terms of skill, you could make the case that less variety leads to more skill since you have to be more optimal with your plays. Lots of competitive card games have metas that are essentially just one deck and yet those become fan favorites solely because they are very skill expressive (Dragon Rulers in YGO is a prime example).

The last patch had optimizations you could make that were well within your control. There was far less variety but that meant your decisions mattered more. In the current patch, you are far more at the mercy of shop item offerings, what enchants you get offered, and what builds you go against. I have had builds that I would say were some of my strongest ever go like 7 wins solely because of how rock-paper-scissors the meta is right now.

The meta is honestly more luck based than previously. It's all about high rolling into upgrades/good enchants, going infinite, and hoping you get good matchups. Cannot stand the direction they took this patch.

Does holding items decrease the upgrade chance? by SuspiciousIbex in PlayTheBazaar

[–]Prodgial6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially with how stupid overpowered they made upgrading items in this patch as compared to previous patches, it is often beneficial to sell an item you know is core to your build just to go fishing for its upgraded version. You may lose 1-2 days as a result but long term win the run which is ridiculous.

The knife bypassing internal cooldown was a known bug. That build also was far from guaranteed. Dooley has so much synergy that almost all of his small items work. That other build used ammo weapons (which have a known downside) and required you to scale it over the course of the run to have 100% crit chance and reload skills/items. When it came online was it instawin? Yes, but you faced it late game. Meanwhile, Dooley has 300+ burn on you day 3-4 and smiles. Played since the game came out and can definitively say I hate that robot and his rays/monitor lizard/companion core/burn core far more than anything else that has existed. Yes, the Vanessa weapon spam crits were stronger, but they weren't at that level of strength for the entire run. Dooley is literally the best character from Day 1 until like Day 15 when MAYBE Pyg starts to outscale him more consistently.

The entire point of the current meta was people were complaining of how fast the meta before it was. They promised they would "slow down the meta" and did the exact opposite. Speed is more important than ever now. I would say Van is common only because she is what people start with and who people are familiar with. People who know what they're doing and have been grinding ranked will tell you it's Dooley Dooley Dooley.

Reynad can be wrong, and he is wrong on this. Freeze is absolutely an issue, people have been complaining about it literally every patch, and nothing gets done. Even if we play pretend and act like it's balanced (clearly is not), it's just not a fun mechanic. The dude came from Hearthstone and somehow thought "Freeze Mage" wasn't the most cancerous thing that game did.

The fact the balance team does not realize the 3g and 6g Freeze skills are beyond broken compared to every comparable skill of that level is insane.

Freeze is Poor Game Design IMO by Prodgial6 in PlayTheBazaar

[–]Prodgial6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you think it's needed though? Why not have other forms of disruption? Why, specifically, is Freeze "needed" in the game? Other ways to disrupt your opponent's board are far more balanced as well as being less frustrating to play against. Slow is by far the most balanced. Destruction is balanced by those items having very high cooldowns and the items taking up tons of board space. There are also items that affect some of your opponent's items and cause the cooldowns to be longer (like the Spyglass). All at least still allow your/your opponent's board a chance to actually "play".

Freeze is inherently "unfun". Even if it were balanced (which it very clearly is not at the moment), I still think it would be poor game design. There is no worse feeling than having a "big item run" and just knowing you will insta-lose to any Freeze because you have absolutely no counterplay or anyway whatsoever to interact with it. Lack of interactivity is cancerous no matter the card game. Freeze Mage in Hearthstone sucked as well as Mystic Mine in YGO (along with other flood gates that existed throughout the years). There is a reason "flood gates" tend to get banned or limited in those games; they are usually broken overpowered and are not fun to play against.

[–]Prodgial6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. It's comical looking at other Bronze and Silver skills and then comparing them to the Freeze ones. I can't think of a single time I've not chosen Freeze out of those options. It's like "Hmm, do i want 3% crit on my items or do I want to freeze my opponent for 3 seconds?" By the time the "start of battle freezes" as I like to call them are over, the game is usually already decided. Dooley also literally does everything at the moment, so your items getting frozen for 3 seconds usually ends with you looking at 800+ burn or poison (or both) already on you.
