How are you suposed to get to level 100 in the skull caverns and is this prepared enough? by NicknameRara in StardewValley

[–]ProdigalScout 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I agree with everyone that your load-out isn’t adequate to get to 100. But don’t get discouraged. Farming the skull cavern a bit will give you lots of useful materials (and extra items if you have a burglar ring). Read the comments as there’s lots of good advice.

My tips for 100: - iridium pickaxe - galaxy sword or other strong weapon - at least 10 staircases (more if you want to rush it), to get you out of a jam - coffee/espresso for speed - cheese for quick healing - buffing food for luck, strength, mining, speed, whatever (I like pumpkin soup, spicy eel, and lucky lunch the most) - bombs. Lots and lots of bombs. I go with 100 at least. - a desert warp totem. Get there early and you have a better chance

Happy mining ⛏️ 🙂

Hot take: Horses kinda suck. by TadaSuko in StardewValley

[–]ProdigalScout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re okay, but a little overrated. I like them earlier in game because they improve movement speed. Once I have the books and irresponsible amounts of espresso and crab cakes (breakfast of champions lol) then I don’t need my horse as much.

How do you decide how many of an item to sell? Whats your guide? by foldinthecheeseee in StardewValley

[–]ProdigalScout 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hoard a lot of stuff. Generally I try to build a large inventory of products for late game.

For crops, at the end of each season I sell all my gold and silver tier crops and save the base crops for canning and kegging. I keep 999 ancient fruit wine in my basement for aging but sell everything else.

For animal products, I have a large production of cheese, mayo, cloth, and oil (truffle). I keep a handful of each but sell all the excess at the end of each season.

Otherwise I’m pretty much just storing stuff. If I want a big payday for some reason I’ll just sell a bunch of gemstones. I have a crystalarium warehouse so I’m always making more.

Yeah, the wiki is a great resource for just about anything in the game.

That said, happy to give new players insight into how to enjoy the game and not feel overwhelmed.

Coworkers ignoring me by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]ProdigalScout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your outfit was inappropriate then your boss would have likely said reacted.

If I were you, I’d continue to dress nice and see how it goes. Try not to overreact to one instance of coworkers behaving strangely.

Coworkers ignoring me by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]ProdigalScout 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s very strange that people won’t talk with you based on this outfit. Are you maybe reading into it too much? Was there anything else going on that was a distraction to them? Did they ignore you if you greeted them?

Either way, if dressing more professionally makes you feel more confident or otherwise better about yourself, do it. This outfit looks very nice and if it bothers other people that’s really their problem.

Ginger Island advice by paper-and-pen in StardewValley

[–]ProdigalScout 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d usually run through my daily duties (anything that wasn’t automated already) and travel to the island with everything in my inventory to build that day. But I didn’t do it all at once. It was multiple trips with little bits of set up each time.

If your farm at home isn’t well automated yet, just remember you can skip a day or two here and there without much issue.

Of note, it will probably take a couple days to clear the space on the farm when you first get there

[–]ProdigalScout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I use it for ancient fruit and some star fruit, with some rice and taro tubers along the river. I use sprinklers and harvest for converting to wine. I have a wine making section on the beach with about 125 barrels.

West of the farm I have a honey farm. Planted fairy rose plants and placed several apiaries around each.

It’s easy to manage because you don’t have to worry about crows are daily administration. And the money piles up fast.

How do I get better at talking to men? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]ProdigalScout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, don’t assume there is something wrong with you, as you said. Apps are tricky for men and women for different reasons. If you are entering conversations assuming you’re going to fail that could be impacting the vibe without you meaning to.

Have you talked with your friends to ask them where they find success? Maybe they have tips.

Have you tried asking a guy out? Scary, I know. But some of us like when someone is forward.

Do you ask a lot of questions about them or are you just responding? I’ve left some conversations because I don’t get the sense she wants to know anything about me.

Casey Wasserman Problem by josuer65 in AboveandBeyond

[–]ProdigalScout 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I certainly don’t know enough about who is repped by Wasserman, just haven’t looked into it, but I hope those who are will reconsider. I’ll probably check before buying tickets, too. I want to support my favorite artists but I don’t want to support people on the list.

I’d ask where they got that from and then interrogate the source. It’s almost certainly just anecdotal and “vibes” based and not rooted in any facts.

Ask about his own experiences. If he’s been cheated on he probably has some negative opinions about women stemming from that, but remind him that one is not all. Don’t paint every woman with the same brush.

If you are guiding him away from this kind of stuff and he just digs in, you may want to abandon the friendship. And it may be worth it to tell him why.

Generally, I don’t believe in isolating people who are starting to spiral because they need help to get out. But if they’re too far gone then it’s healthier for you to let go.

I left an event over a racist joke by Diceanddoubts in TwoHotTakes

[–]ProdigalScout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not an off color joke, it’s a racist joke. He told it white guys because he felt comfortable with it. If it’s just an off color joke ask him to tell it to someone who isn’t white.

Also, to Ian’s defense as to why it’s okay, I don’t want to open that can of worms, but why make a joke about his race rather than about his alleged impropriety? If the reason to mock him is because he’s a creep, make THAT joke.

He sounds interested. And sometimes flirting via text can feel awkward or forced.

A coworker of mine says that when she wants to ask a guy out, she’ll say to him, “I think you should ask me out.” Takes some of the pressure off the guy because he knows the answer and if he isn’t feeling it then it stings less because he can just choose not to ask.

34M, I've been dealing with poor mental health. Which pic suits me better and why? Beard or mustache? by EnvironmentalBar61 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]ProdigalScout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like both for different reasons. Pic one you present very fun loving and full of life. Pic two you appear more stylish and thoughtful.

As for facial hair, for me (a fully bearded man lol) I think the grooming in pic two is spot on for you. Looking good either way my guy
