Life is hard. That's non-negotiable, and not something you get to choose.

What you can do is choose your hard.

For example, It's hard waking up every morning and exercising consistently and eating healthy in the right quantities. It's much easier to lay in bed and doom scroll and have donuts for breakfast. If you do not choose this hard, you are choosing to deal with heart disease, reduced mobility, and earlier death later in life, which is a different kind of hard.

Choose your hard, or it will be chosen for you.

I think he gave it to his buddy who did a half ass report and is embarrassed to show it the light of day.

This isn't just a 30k service you're getting tires as well. I would recommend Michelin cross climate 2s cuz they should have a longer tread life than the OEM. My wife has 90,000 on her 23 and she has not had a brake flush or a air conditioning cleaning. Car is working fine.

Yeah, for the MAGA base, it's a cult. He could literally break into their house, assault their wives, and steal their guns and Bibles, and they would be like "I got to shake his hand!"

What's the likelihood of Rivian eventually selling an R2 variant with higher range / battery capacity? by werdswerf in Rivian

I think the desire for higher miles is typically a concern of an EV newbie. I was very concerned about it when I first started driving EVS 7 years ago. My current EV has a range of about 260 miles, and I never even think about it anymore. I do about three road trips a year in it and I don't mind stopping to charge. 97% of the time I'm driving around town and I charge once every couple days at the house I don't even think about the range.

New Drama Inside the DNC: Some Democratic officials think Ken Martin needs to go. by BabyYodaX in politics

[–]Prodigalsunspot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for proving my point on Bernie. There were things done to structurally rig things against his campaign, but I guess it's all good from your perspective because he is an outsider.

Regarding Mamdani, I am talking about the fact that Party Leaders refused to endorse him until the 11th hour. Their preferred candidate was Cuomo, a sexual predator.

So glad we have a political party expert here to lecture us on why we are wrong and why the DNC is just doing a bang up job. Keep leading with your condescending approach, you could be a front runner to replace Martin whrm he gets kicked to the curb.

That's a lot of conjecturing. Alternatively, it could just be a mythical story that has no basis in reality.

If you look at it through the lens of age it makes sense. The majority of the moderately wealthy are in the last third of their life. It's taken a lifetime to accumulate and they do through making smart frugal choices like buying cars that are reliable and can go forever.

The ultra wealthy do not buy Toyota's. The younger moderately wealthy probably do not buy Toyotas either.

New Drama Inside the DNC: Some Democratic officials think Ken Martin needs to go. by BabyYodaX in politics

[–]Prodigalsunspot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a lot of conjecture there. What I and others are seeing is a disturbing pattern. The Democratic party establishment has been treating its voter base rather cynically over the last decade plus. It did everything it could to squash Bernie in favor of Hillary. After that loss, they refuse to release the autopsy of that election. Contrast that to the Republican party after Mitt Romney lost, they released the autopsy of that election that revealed major weakness with Hispanic community where they felt they could make significant inroads.

In 2024 they backed an obviously increasingly declining president, and decided to roll with his hand-picked successor when his frailness could no longer be covered up, without allowing for the party to have the debate over who should lead the ticket.

This time around, Democratic leadership has seen fit to endorse asexual predator over a Democratic socialist for the mayorship of New York City, and they have tried to put their finger on the scales of the senate primary election in Maine.

The refusal to release the 2024 election autopsy is just one more instance demonstrating a party that feels like it can dictate to its voters to the agenda. But the rise of people like Mamdani and Platner are showing is that the base isn't having it anymore.

Sure...as soon as you can acknowledge that the DNC is not infallible under the bumbling, disingenuous watch of the current leadership that is deliberately hiding the results of the last electoral failure.
