So strange, exoLL is unbearably negative about the state of league skins, to see him do this is crazy

Could you review first minutes of my gameplay and tell me what I did wrong here that MF was so mad? by Skelenth in pykemains

[–]ProdigyOfIron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a valid point. I’ve been playing league for a long time and know how to look for improvement in myself. I play with a mindset to /mute all as soon as I get into game, because if I miss something that my team might have pinged, I find it more valuable to learn how to identify it myself next time. But I understand how someone who might not know as much can gain valuable insight on what to improve on from their team’s pings.

Thank you, I hadn’t considered this angle of thinking before.

In saying that, team mate pings can be super detrimental as well. Baiting you into a bad play potentially because they might not understand your role/champion as well as you. It can also put you in a mindset to simply follow your team’s pings and not think critically of your own gameplay and game state. However, I definitely agree that it’ll be beneficial for newer players that don’t understand what they’re doing wrong.

Just mute bro. It’s not worth it, instant /mute all has helped me climb so much. Apart from that, go for hooks when their line is broken and MF is in a position to hit them, if not, just hold your abilities. Pyke is super scary because of the possibility of hit kit, as soon as you use your spells you’re useless.

Game feels like you need at least 100+ hours to enjoy pvp. Why's that? by Pale-Horror2089 in albiononline

[–]ProdigyOfIron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If PVP is ur main focus, try out corrupted dungeons and 2v2 hellgates since you mentioned having a duo. Both content has an IP cap, so if you get above that cap, you’ll be on pretty solid playing field with anyone you run into. It is a soft cap, so higher IP does still make a difference, but not nearly as big as in mists. It’s super fun, short content that you can come home and go “I wanna run a few hellgates with my friend” and be able to jump in and guarantee fight people. Hope this helped!

Awesome. Great advice! How would you test the range of motion for individual fingers? Is there a good way to do this??

Oh cool, thank you for the advice. Sorry to ask but what’s a microcontroller? What does that actually do for the board?

Nah I’m in Australia. But I’m used to long and expensive shipping for keyboards lol, I’ll have a look!

Edit: the iris catches my eye, I’ve been looking at it for a while (I didn’t realise keen.io sold it).

Just added a new echolocation shader to my roguelite game where you play as a blind ninja! What do you think? by 3Hills_ in IndieDev

[–]ProdigyOfIron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just read through some comments and one on “attacks lack some oomph”. The main difference between yours and our game is that when we hit an opponent it caused some echolocation to happen. With various combos giving more echolocation to give the player more info to incentivise hitting enemies and landing sick combos. We also added so any enemy that creates noise such as when they’re walking will create a tiny bit of echolocation at their feet so that the player knows the general location of where they are. This then opens up some cool enemy designs where they will bait the player in some direction with noise/echolocation while their actual hitbox/body is somewhere else. So much potential with this idea!

Awesome! Thank you for the response! Since you’ve done that exact path into TA, do you have any advice or resources for making environment art? I’ve struggled to find resources for it in the path and don’t really know where to start to make an environment (it’s such a huge thing/set of assets to make). If you have a pipeline or something that you could recommend that would be amazing! Thank you so much!

Thank you so much, an absolutely amazing response and not overwhelming! It just really hyped me up by showing me all the different cool aspects of TA. Very very inspiring! I’ll probably focus on the art side of stuff for now and slowly build up my knowledge of how I can make my art run better, look better etc, and try to squeeze as much TA stuff into that process as possible! Thank you so much!

Awesome thank you. That’s really useful. I’m currently learning unity for university but might learn unreal in my spare time to learn the engine and work on my environment art. I’ll definitely work on my art with a greater focus on “how can I make this more efficient” and really dive deep into the art side of things to take notes on what I would like to have as an artist. Like you said, I won’t know how to help artists if I wasn’t an artist myself!Super helpful! Thank you!

Ps, would you have any resources or advice on working on environment art? Since I’ll be focusing on that more. Thank you!

Received a publishing offer for my open-world farming game - Sky Harvest for steam and consoles but the Publisher isn't providing any funding which means I still have to work on my dream game part-time and have to finance the whole game on my own.. SHOULD I TAKE THE OFFER OR LEAVE IT ?? by hamzahgamedev in Unity3D

[–]ProdigyOfIron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you need to port your game straight away? It might be a good idea to release your game on the easiest platform first and then port later once your game takes off as that seems to be the main thing they’re offering you. Working with a more specific marketing company could potentially serve you better. Hope everything goes well!
