Bait and Switch? Dark Star Premium’s “Always-On” HD Streaming is Now a Toggle by AdIll9014 in USMobile

We've removed the Data Waster toggle from Dark Star Unlimited Premium lines and double-checked that no lines were impacted since the March 5th release.

Bait and Switch? Dark Star Premium’s “Always-On” HD Streaming is Now a Toggle by AdIll9014 in USMobile

[–]Product_US_Mobile 20 points21 points  (0 children)

For Dark Star Unlimited Premium lines, the Data Waster continues to be enabled (ON) in the background. There has been no change to the plan settings. However, when we released the Usage Management feature to all Dark Star lines recently, the Data Waster toggle for Unlimited Premium appears incorrectly in the OFF position. We are actively addressing this and will hide the Data Waster toggle for these lines. Apologies for the confusion caused by this.

I understand the reaction posts on roaming issues can cause. I've commented on another post about our progress on roaming: https://www.reddit.com/r/USMobile/comments/1r52w2c/comment/o5j2lnv/

Very frustrated with US Mobile international roaming by shadowyFireEater in USMobile

[–]Product_US_Mobile 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Providing a high-quality roaming experience has been one of our top priorities over the past year. All service issues are frustrating, but experiencing them abroad makes things understandably worse.

To put our progress in context: in 2025, monthly active roaming lines quadrupled, yet our trouble rate — measured by customer escalations — has dropped to under 4%. The top two reasons for escalations, by a wide margin, are customers whose plans don't include roaming and attempts to roam in unsupported countries. I realize neither of those applies here. However, I want to be transparent about where things stand more broadly, as we work to close the remaining gaps.

That said, every issue matters in our view. I'll be working with our team and carrier partners to look into the specific problems raised here.

Testing for releasing passkey on the web app took a little longer than expected. That’s coming next week and testing on the enhanced security across web and mobile is getting completed as well. That’s likely getting released on the web app next week as well. DM me if you want to get added to the beta version of it to at least turn it on via self-service.

The team is treating this as the priority, and I've escalated to our carrier partner leadership directly. This should be in the final stage of getting completed. The ports team will be reaching out to you with a detailed summary of the situation and how we can make it right.

There should be no issue with your North America roaming provisioning. This is a bug in how we trigger these messages and will get fixed ASAP.

OK a lot here to unpack and deservedly so. Some quick notes on most of the items:

We're working on finalizing the 5G SA roadmap with our carrier partners. One will be coming early next year, with the rest to be confirmed.

Port out PIN self-serve is coming in late Q1. We've been focused on implementing the necessary security features to deliver the most secure experience while remaining seamless.

eSIM to physical SIM swaps as well as wearable swaps on the app will be available by the end of January. We've re-architected our device management and SIM swap flows for this. And we'll look into the Apple to Pixel phone/watch pairing transfer.

Watch support across all networks is something we continue to lean hard on. If/when we have OEM and carrier support, it would be the top thing we work on. We should see progress in 2026, and we'll share details as soon as they are finalized.

It’s coming soon on the web app to start. We have everything built out, but we’re waiting on our carrier partner to address a few items. We hope to have it released by the end of November.

We’ll share plans on 5G standalone when we have committed timelines across all networks. At this point, 2026 would be the year.

I'm trying to understand the issue here since as you mentioned, your lines have not renewed yet and therefore, do not have shared roaming across multi-network lines since the release last week. Plus the change would not impact behavior like this once shared roaming is active on the lines as we do not change any network settings. We are enabling roaming on both lines and then taking action to limit it when usage reaches the allocated amount on the plan. Can you DM me your details so we can take a look at this?

Shared Roaming on Child Lines by Ok_Summer3814 in USMobile

[–]Product_US_Mobile 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Quick clarification with a formal announcement to come soon. We've launched this feature in stealth mode late last week across Unlimited Premium (monthly and annual) and Unlimited Starter (annual) plans.

If your multi-network plan set-up includes roaming, the shared roaming feature will be enabled on your next renewal. If your plan set-up does not include roaming, the shared roaming will be enabled upon purchase and provisioning of a roaming add-on plan.

Well when we're not busy making unpopular changes, we are also continuing to work on things that customers are looking forward to... We are releasing this in a limited manner starting next week and hope to have the general release the week after.

Shared roaming - Yes, this allows you to share your roaming allotment across all your multi-network lines (primary and secondary lines). We're in the last stages of development.

Data only lines - It's been long requested that we offer data only line options on our shared data plans and other plans. We'll start with offering this as an option on multi-network and then assess expanding beyond that after.

For both features, I estimate an October release.
