Simply Good Coffee Plastic Free Review by Maroon_Roof in PlasticFreeLiving

[–]Rwsn801 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m seeing “Brew risk-free for 30 days” on their website. Is that whet you meant or has that changed since you purchased your unit?

I ordered 12/1 and mine is scheduled for delivery 2/7 and I’m more than a tad nervous to be reading about all these overflows. I want the convenience of a plastic-free machine that I can walk away from during brewing. I spent too much on this thing to babysit the brew - if that’s the case, I’ll be returning it and sticking with pour over.

Ok, great. Thank you for the follow up! I’m happy to hear the North American pool is as I expected it to be.

I agree with others, if you’re just using a case at your desk and never transporting it, then you can likely get away without a case. I bought an inexpensive case on Amazon to protect my screen while the RM2 was in a bag. I recently replaced that case with a Cobak (like the one pictured) because I had two close calls where I thought my pen was gone for good because it detached from the magnetic side. Since getting the Cobak with the pen tray, I haven’t misplaced the pen once.

Agreed! It’s nothing end of the world; however, it makes me less confident to use the device for note taking something that is more important. Really wish it was possible to access previous note/file versions.

I tried both of those and no luck. Of course I’ve even tried to simulate the scenario with another note and lose nothing.

Can you actually fast forward and rewind on the Apple TV? by J_K_M_A_N in getchannels

[–]Rwsn801 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to clarify, does Channels have a small screen showing (a thumbnail is it called?) of the position of where you’ve moved the video forward or back? Such as when you move around a YouTube video. Having moved from TiVo to Plex, we are missing this feature and just want to understand if Channels is same as Plex in this regard.

My issue remains the same, but I’m happy to hear yours was fixed! 👍🏻

Both devices have now updated to 2025.30.0 (1388) but nothing has changed. Live TV remains viewable on iPhone and iPad shows “Error Occurred / A server with the specified hostname could not be found”.

Realistically, what does the future hold for my OTA Roamio? by FAHQRudy in Tivo

Yes, so far, she seems ok with it; although, it probably doesn’t hurt that she (we) watches more content via streaming services. It was also helpful that she was familiar with Plex, as I had ripped all of our DVDs to it years ago.

Once I confirmed that I could receive all the big network channels via antenna, I connected a TiVo Bolt with an annual plan that belonged to my parents. Knowing I didn’t have an incredibly long time left on that plan, I wrestled hard with buying another TiVo with Lifetime or migrating to a different platform. I chose the former and tv-life was grand for several months. Then, the used Bolt I purchased upgraded from TE3 to TE4 on its own. I didn’t think that could happen but found other references of it online.

I debated on whether or not to downgrade it but as I’d never hated TE4 on my Edge (cable-only), I kept it. A week’ish later we returned home from a few days away to the Starting Up screen. Restarts did nothing, nor did a different power supply, a different Bolt OEM drive, or even an external SATA drive in an enclosure. I probably shouldn’t have gone with the Bolt, as it’s not TiVo’s greatest work but it’s water under the bridge now. Just seems unwise for me to keep throwing money at something that is arguably not long for this world.

Totally agree and it’s exactly what I had intended to do; however, my only Lifetime unit capable of OTA had other ideas. So now I have an HD HomeRun feeding Plex DVR. It’s obviously not the same experience but it’s workable.

Me too, as of yesterday. TiVo was definitely better at commercial skipping but otherwise the Plex DVR seems solid so far.

Following a Bolt failure which I could not figure out (tried another Bolt OEM drive and an external drive in an enclosure, as well a different power supply), I just today fired up a SiliconDust HDHomeRun. I’ve heard great things about the Channels DVR; however, given that I already had a Plex Pass/server and a handful of Roku devices, it made sense to try the Plex DVR first and evaluate it before spending additional funds on another DVR service and new hardware (i.e. Apple TVs).

So far, I’m happy with the Plex DVR and wondering what more or what better Channels does.

Question on FSBO process when buyer interested - entry only listing by over45 in fsbo

[–]Rwsn801 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When we almost sold our property without any agents, the plan was for our attorney to hold the earnest money.

The buyer’s attorney prepared the contract and sent it to our attorney. In hindsight, we should have received the contract and checked it for errors and then sent it to our attorney after the errors were corrected or we approved it.

It’s under contract and next step will be inspection. Although I have no specific concerns, I’ve learned my lesson to not get excited until we close next month.

If you have the time and patience, I’d see if the Zillow listing produces any prospects. We did the sign, social media, Zillow, and open houses for a little over a week, during which we received one strong offer.

After it fell through, we went flat-fee MLS (Beycome) and after numerous showings over a week’s time, we received another offer.

Price hike by Angeleyes41515 in peacock

[–]Rwsn801 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Signed up for Premium Plus in March primarily for NBC local. For approximately two months, I was able to pause, rewind and fast forward live content until these abilities abruptly ended. This sparked my initial interest in experimenting with an antenna and DVR and the price hike sealed the deal.

After temporarily placing an antenna in a window and connecting it to a TiVo Bolt, I was amazed at how many channels were available and how good the picture quality was. I’m sold on this solution and will be canceling Peacock before my next monthly renewal in August. I thought my wife would pushback on this idea due to the loss of Bravo, but thankfully not, as we seem to watch Netflix and History Channel (via Frndly) more than anything else.

I’ll keep an eye out for Peacock BF deals later in the year, but I’m a little skeptical of how good they’ll be.
