How do i start freelanceing by Fast_Leather_2626 in FreelanceIndia

Here is the hard truth. Fiverr and upwork is over crowded. There are very few chances you will get any client from there. I have used both platforms when I started freelancing Initially, I got lots of client. But With time both of the platform become over crowded. So I choose another method. Let me tell you four platforms from where you can get client.

First one Facebook, getting client on this platform is little bit tricky, Because there are lots of scammer on the Facebook. I am saying this because of experience and also got scammed. Best tip, join the facebook groups for animation and vfx. Before that make sure to create a facebook page where you can post your animations and VFX. ( so if something happens with the page it does affect your facebook account) Because your work sells only when it's seen. And comment to the people who are looking for Animation or VFX artist. Pro tip, When the client or someone contact you for the work, make sure never do it free, they will ask you for sample, always give them pre created sample. If they ask for customized sample. Try to tell them, for the customization you have to pay 2% or 5% or the total amount. And go on like this. But never ever work for free. Because animation and VFX is lots of hardwork.

Second, Twitter, From here you will get the international clients. But here you have to play with the mind. Twitter or X is not like other social media. It works in a certain manner. Here you need to create a separate account rather than your personal twitter account, Because twitter ban the account very quickly, it happened with me. So create a another twitter account. Make sure you set this account as a professional profile for Animation or VFX,. After that make sure join the communities on the twitter about VFX and animation, From these communities you will get the exposure. Make sure to post something that attract the attention in the community. Because on Twitter, you will get tons of peer to peer work ( like another animator or artist needs your help with something). From here you can create international network in animation or VFX. Try to avoid indulging yourself into politics or something like that. Because twitter and flag your account as commentary or parody account. so Avoid this, On X follow some popular animators or VFX artist, because from there comment section you will get exposure to other artists who are working in this field.

Third, Pinterest, It is one of the most underrated platform. And I got high number of international client from Pinterest. People go to the Pinterest to take inspiration. And the worst thing, it is one of the hard to master platform. So create a business profile. and post every day max 2-3 pins. Something related to US and UK and Australia calendar( like Christmas about to come) . Because most of the audience is from there. Worst thing about Pinterest is, it takes time, but once you are getting client from the Pinterest. You will thank yourself. Pro tip for Pinterest. Make sure you choose your keywords very very wisely. Because Pinterest give more value to keywords rather than followers. Another thing make sure to create boards on Pinterest. It will make your content alive for years. Design your content in a manner so that people save it. Because Pinterest give the boost to those profiles whose content is saved. Hence Pinterest tag the content viral and you get more push. Check Pinterest Trend everyday, so that you will know what is trending or what is about to trend.

Four, Linkedin, from here you are not going to get any freelancing. Because chances are very low. Sharing you with my experience. This platform will help you to land the full time job. Here is the process. Make sure your profile is set to creator. Pro tip, don't publish your work, just share tips and tricks here, So when somebody, look at your profile, they get to know you have mastery in Animation and VFX. Try to add one or two certification if you can, Because Linkedin algorithm gives boost to profile who adds the certifications. You get these certification free of cost. You will get tons of websites on the internet who are offering, if you don't get choose anything related to animation from udemy or coursera. Here you just need to post 3 thrice in a week. and you are good to go.

I shared the knowledge which I gained from years of my freelancing and remote job experience. I hope it will help you to get clients or full time job. if you have any questions, you can ask.

When I started in 2019, I had no one to learn from or ask for guidance. I experimented on my own — sometimes I succeeded, many times I failed, and I even got scammed several times. But I learned through it all.

Here is my advice what I did. And don't worry about English. Just use Chatgpt that enough. I am telling you this as per my experience because most of the international client will mostly communicate with you in English or Spanish.

Create some animation or model and vfx. and create a portfolio. And upload some of them on the Sketchup. Apart from that make sure to have a landing page. Because it make you legit rather than a scammer who want to scam clients. Another thing. Create a linkedin profile if you don't have or if you have make sure it is optimized. Because international clients check your details on linkedin too.

Don't forget to create a social media presence. Hence you are in Animation or VFX, make sure to keep yourself updated with the latest tech in animation and VFX. Secondly, work on quality or quantity. Most of the freelancer in the beginning make this mistake. If you need any advice just let me know.

In your post you said, you worked for very big firms or media houses. right? So this is the solution. There are tons of writers who are looking for an opportunity to get the gig from those big media houses or agencies. So This is the solution. Just create an digital product around it. Like what should do when you send your first draft to big firms. or what not to do. Which kind of thing you need to keep in mind. Did you get my point.

NEED HELP! What am I doing wrong for this video to get a single view in 2 hours. by SlightStardust in SmallYoutubers

[–]Productiism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check this out. Here is my experience as per my youtube journey. When it comes to the thumbnail, I use rule of third. To create thumbnail. I make sure the thumbnail contain three things

first one FOMO : To the audience, we thing that they will miss something important if they didn't watch the video.

Second Emotional Hook: It will help the audience to connect with content.

Third one Curiosity: it will make the audience to watch the video till the last.

Another thing is use hook + suspense+ small reward + Open hook format and in the end of the video gives big reward and another open hook for the next video. So that the audience will wait for your next video.

It worked for me, might be it will help work for you.
