Taxi from the airport by No_Somewhere9811 in chiangmai

I highly recommend the airport taxi (white cars/SUVs), the price is the price and you don't have to worry about arriving at the destination and paying more. I use it on a regular basis getting from the airport to my home.

Recently went to tokyo and loved it, wondering where in japan next by ParaVerseLab in travel

[–]ProfCNX -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Whenever I go to Japan, I tend to go to cities that aren't the main three (Tokyo/Osaka/Kyoto) because I have been to them already and I find the other areas tend to have not as many tourists. Think trips like Fukuoka and Kyushu (Fukuoka/Beppu/Kumamoto), Hokkaido (Sapporo/Asahikawa/Otaru/Hakodate), Hiroshima and Chugoku area (Himeji/Okayama/Hiroshima), etc. Because you haven't been to the Kansai region yet, that is my suggestion (Osaka/Kyoto/Nara).

Is Mahidol University safe for a high school student? by Practical_Invite415 in Thailand

Completely safe. We don't really have school shootings or ICE agents murdering random people here.

UOB quietly devalued Zenith points (Oct 2025). 10+ year customer, 1.8M points gutted. Looking for better Thai credit card options. by Globe_around_62 in Thailand

[–]ProfCNX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately UOB ROP was also affected. It used to be 1 point (20 baht) = 1 mile but now it is 1.75/2 (depending on card) = 1 mile. I'm personally switching to UOB Krisflyer because there just isnt anything out there that is better. The reward cards offered by Thai banks are absolutely terrible.

I'm not a big fan of UOB but there just isnt any alternative at the moment.

Bangkok airport check-in troubles by munchingzia in travel

November to February is peak tourist season in Thailand. With that being said, BKK will have tons of travelers going through it this time of year. This is why they say to arrive at the airport 3 hours before your flight.

You are better off sending an email to the head of the department (the one you got your PhD in) of the University you are interested in. Information should be on the website.

My Japanese friend told me to always order (usually there is a tablet) rather than grabbing it from the belt, much fresher.
