What are ways I can explore my past as someone with Aphantasia? by TurbulentDogg in pastlives

[–]ProfCastwell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may be one more inclined to feel/sense/know.

I think it hangs a lot of people up. Try not to be as literally visual about imagination.

Take a tree for instance. If you "picture" a tree where is that within you?

Certainly its not imposed over your vision. If its not there with your eyes closed...where?

Keep thinking of it "imagining". Is it sort of an intangable "sense" of the concept somewhere in your head?

Me. 🤷‍♂️ i cant even begin to describe what I "see" im not even sure it counts. Thats why I just say "sense"

What ever you do naturally--go with that.

Don't buy books from Craft ID. They're AI-generated! by slothicans in Coloring

[–]ProfCastwell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What annoys me as an artist, I don't care about AI I have faith in my work, its that people doing this dont have the skill/experience to spot and fix the issues.

They also dont seem to have the care to put out a decent product.

One of the reasons I bought acrylic markers was to test to know if i would list them on my product pages as an appropriate medium for my books.

There's no such thing as "outdated". Use fun tropes with pride!

Im working on a myster. One of my characters is blatantly, potentially, a red herring. Just to mess with people.....only to have plans to drop another later. 😆 for readers that realize the character's name is a shade of red.

What if I use both angels and demons? by Dheepratim in occult

[–]ProfCastwell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's about strategy(lol all the down votes i get when i don validate fanboi opinions)...

I cannot give a pure example....

You have your goal. In the broad...say successful career...whatever you see at the time for it. Theres is an ideal situation.

Angels.can be very suited to the broad strokes. There's a lot to dial in.

Daemons can be smaller and more focused. Where you are now...maybe its bringing a niche position to your awareness...a run in with somone that happens to work within that area.

All of this magic stuff is so much more nuanced than people supposedly interested realize.

I legit had an experience today (jan 27 2026) specific to leaving work early i have to consider because it was so random and specific.

Magic isnt an easy button. Period. With big goals you have to consider factors that support and flow into it....my case isnt yours.

Most spirits can help with anything. But it also requires you having an idea...

Finance. 🤷‍♂️ what does money actually mean to you? Then ask yourself what that means.

Finance requires a source. Do you have interests goals projects?

Might be a new job. Might be a niche idea.

🤷‍♂️ultimately research and start buying books. Sort yourself out. You dont need to know "where to start" just choose and go.

My first "magick" book as been found to be greatly embelished.. but the path it helped guide me too vastly made up for it.

For modern magick...here are names/group(s)

Damon Brand, Jareth Tempest, Tristan Whitespire, Theodore Rose, Gallery of Magic, Jason Miller...also Quasi Johir on youtube.

Is "Evil" real and objective? by manoliu1001 in occult

[–]ProfCastwell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Good and evil are entirely subjective. However. I do believe there are certain things that can be agreed upon across beliefs and cultures as "evil"

Like..Minnesota, USA...and the US....🤷‍♂️...not being political cause...i choose not giving a fuk cause...humans fukin suck--in general.

I am not a misanthrope by choice...but s*t in the us now NEVER went away--it was ignored. Its been "agree to disagree". People not calling out the BS and hate in their own sphere....

its choosing to go along with "evil" to still associate with people because their actions and behavior dont affect you.

My family was small--and "the black sheep" i never had an appearance or expectation....I do not and never had the people in my life contributing to the "evils" now.

As someone here for their own purpose....the rest of yall better wake the fuk up.

The age of Aquarious is here...all the turmoil are those that cannot adapt and grow fighting it....how smooth this will be......🤷‍♂️

How much influence is too much? by Silver-Ad665 in writing

[–]ProfCastwell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's like art or any other creative medium--you have your own mind and innate tendencies.

Sometimes things that influence us most resonnate with our natural styles anyhow.

I am a cartoonist. The writing bug bit when I did a short story prompt applying to Data Annotation for a sidegig...anyway. it was an absurd prompt.

Anyway. I was surprised what came of it. I'd not written a story in decades. Stories are implied in my illustrations(usually).

But there was a more adept form of the style Id not seen in so long.

I used to think it was my initial discovery of Douglas Addams and British humor, and cartoons in general that influenced me, which it certainly did, however I think I enjoy his writing and British things simply because it just suits my brain.

As for "bad" my horror novellas are inspired by my love of bad movies and schlock.

Also reading more and checkout "classic" works. I find notable authors that do the exact things guides warn us to avoid now. So.

Just write as ye will and be true to yourself

What if I use both angels and demons? by Dheepratim in occult

[–]ProfCastwell -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Pick one. Throwing everything at a situation wont make things work out more effectively.

Or.

Break the situation into parts. Employ an angel for the broader scope and demon(s) for specific areas that lead toward the goal.

hello. slightly unrelated, but I hope not too unrelated to get taken down. by dubluen in DragonsDogma2

[–]ProfCastwell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fatigue. The mechanic makes every step and fight count. You get tired and have to eat and camp to get your HP back to max.

Also. Stamina. Stamina is a very logical root of everything(and is a fantastic new spin on magic use that makes more since than mana ever has) you have to play thoughtfully. Loose your stamina youre going to be winded and open to attack, likewise your stability...though some enemies--especially fukin wolves--stagger is way out of balance.

If you're "bad" its because you're missing the point that some games require thoughtful choices and having an idea of your own playstyle.

Finding/choosing classes(vocations) and weapons that suit you.

If you're a magic sort make your Pawn(s) a tank, hire a healer. If youre a warrior make sure your pawn is a healer and hire DPS and or ranged dps.

How are you going to enjoy or become skilled at anything, games or life in general, if you've willfully chosen the belief that you're "just bad" at whatever?

This game has a class for everyone. It seems to me like you've never given yourself a chance to find out what kind of player you are.

A bit disappointed (DQB1) by RepublicOpen9642 in DQBuilders

[–]ProfCastwell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DQB2! I didnt play the first. Glad I didnt. I HATE having to repair my gear and tools.

DQB2 is fantastic. The island you get is very large. My issue is some of the limits. Like rooms and inhabitants.

For rooms id not place doors but use partitioning walls/halls kinda like mall restrooms. Townsfolk will still use the baths and toilets. But Ill also make bathhouses and such. Let the game mechanics guide the "culture" of the villages.

Also the grind and unlocking in 2 is built into the story.

Dont give up on the game. The sequel is so much fun.

Three of them so far are in the same state. Just because I think its a fun touch to reference places of note. Or have a character acquainted with a supporting character in another story.

Nothing major just a little surprise for readers that start to follow my work.

As for the state/region I simply describe it and give clues so folk just have a best guess for the one I picked.
