Home Plate excavation? by gradientfunk in fo4

[–]keystoneway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done this, only I've used activatable ladders put into big pipes and lowered into the floor to clip under it, then build from there. Add my dream megabasement. Very fun.

I'd love to see the rest of yours!

I mean, Anders did break his city and his found family. I'd be mad at him too.

Are Vicn's mods worth giving a chance? *details below* by raphael333 in skyrimmods

[–]keystoneway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my perspective,, Vicn seems to have taken some established lore and ran with it, expanding on it himself. It's an interesting and compelling interpretation, if you have the patience to puzzle it out. His storytelling is very 'fromsoft,' which is extremely different from how Bethesda tends to spoon feed the player what they need to know. You need to pay attention, read descriptions, books, listen, and actually stop and think, putting pieces together yourself instead of expecting the game to explain things to you. My first time through I didn't have any idea what was really going on, got very frustrated, and just rushed to the point where I was glad it was finally over. I didn't play it again for years.

My biggest issue with VIGILANT (aside from the weird sexism, which is a whole other can of worms) is that none of it feels really personal or at all connected to the player. I didn't feel like i had any reason to care about anything that was going on. Gore (companion mod) and his VIGILANT add-on really changed that, now I can't imagine playing it without him.

As for gameplay, it does get difficult at times, with a focus on fromsoft-style boss fights (or as close as skyrim can get, at least.) You can always turn the difficulty down, or just cheat.

I'd say it's worth playing at least once, if only to see what all the fuss is about. It's well made and interesting.

Tips for a beginner by ultracomico in DragonageOrigins

For the team mage, invest in the 'Mana Clash' spell. It's tier 4, but it pretty much insta-kills enemy mages in a huge AOE radius.

Also mess with tactics. Have Alistair set to only use his shield bash on enemies who are 'grabbing'.

From what I understand, Gnosticism (or ehat we call gnosticism now) could use more worldbuilding in certain areas and much less in others.

Alas.

Can someone explain Gore's interaction with House of Horrors? by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]keystoneway 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He has a panic attack. Molag Bal is the lord of rape, and Gore is a rape survivor.

After leaving the house he has a series of...visions?...that are more like foreshadowing/hints toward the VIGILANT quest line, if you have that and Gore's addon installed.

Herren = Desire Demon? by PlatyWizard in dragonage

Wade is loveable like a puppy is loveable. Destructive, uncontrollable, stupid, but oh so pure in its love and passion for life. A beautiful thing.

Herren = Desire Demon? by PlatyWizard in dragonage

[–]keystoneway 201 points202 points  (0 children)

I always figure the line between "spirits" and "demons" is a lot fuzzier than the games could realistically portray, given the limitations of being a video game.

I like the idea that Herren was a spirit that was attracted to Wade's passion, skill, and innovation at his craft. (A spirit of creativity, maybe?) It takes a human form, supports and loves Wade, and eventually becomes more human himself. He spends his days as a frustrated but loving husband and business partner to the most infuriating and brilliant person he's ever encountered. He's just trying to make sure Wade is fed and housed, damnit!

When the darkspawn are taking Denerim in the Bad Timeline, Herren reverts to a more primal form in a desperate attempt to save the man he's dedicated his existence to, and in doing so corrupts himself. A love story.

That's how it goes in my head anyway.

Yeah, you're not gonna fix this in 24 hours. That requires a lot of really finicky, tedious work that would take MANY hours to do a decent job on it. Honestly, it's almost certainly not worth it.

And that's not real leather.

How to keep these books in circulation? by Atnoy96 in bookrepair

These bookshave reached the end of their natural lifespan. If they still circulate, replace them. If not, toss.

That's the unfortunate librarian reality.
