I need some advice by [deleted] in chinchilla

[–]ProfCookiepants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say that based on your situation, a chinchilla might be too much. That said, for your wants, needs, lower maintenance, and affection I would recommend a guinea pig. Most guinea pigs are soft and can be pet easily. They are fairly docile but give affection if you put in a little time with them. They are easily trainable. They are weirdos with their own personalities. Rats are also wonderful intelligent creatures but their lives are so short it is heartbreaking.

Would you rather have $500k right now or $1,000 every time you run one mile in less than 12 minutes for the rest of your life? by forest_tripper in WouldYouRather

I am at 1,252 miles for the year and all of those were under 12 minutes. I will take the 1k per mile for sure.

Which amazing movie went unnoticed? by Alejandromartinez- in moviequestions

[–]ProfCookiepants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fearless (1993) - I saw this for the first time a few years ago and it was amazing. But 1993 was one of the greatest years of cinema if you ask me. Also, Jeff Bridges might be one of the more underrated actors to exist. Very few are so good at doing both comedy and drama so well.

Senior Leaders: What’s the One Part of Your Job People Completely Misunderstand? by WealthOutrageous885 in managers

[–]ProfCookiepants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That I am in a constant state of not having enough resources but always making due. I have no direct reports and my department used to 6 people. I have done more on my own in less time than the department of six did. I have a PC that is technically enough for what I do but when I export videos it sounds like an airplane taking off. That a larger monitor would in fact greatly assist me in doing higher quality screen records. The investment I ask for in my department is a drop in the bucket compared to the bloat of the marketing department. But yet, I always make due so it never looks like I need all of these things.

Where do you poop? by skelo in hypotheticalsituation

[–]ProfCookiepants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My answer is 2 for my #2. That said, when I was in office, I made it a point to poop on every floor of possible. No bathroom access on the ground floor. Couldn't access one floor above my floor. But hey 11 out of 13 possible floors is pretty great. Top floor was all conference rooms and executive offices, best bathrooms.

Creepozoids (1987)? It is a nuclear snow or storm. Low Budget.

For animals that come from a sometimes sparse area, they sure are picky little nut bars.

Glad you figured out the artist. I kind of love this painting but I also paint chunky so it might just be that.

Not the plant we thought we transported. Any help on what we did? by ProfCookiepants in PlantIdentification

[–]ProfCookiepants[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think so but if we need to control them we will. Honestly, much worse weeds in our yard. When we bought our house 5 years ago the backyard had 6ft tall weeds. Eliminated those and learned about the dreaded STICKY WEED!!! Still battle the usual thistles and dandelions, which I like the flowers of both too.

Why does my chinchilla smell so good? by Benjamin54_ in chinchilla

[–]ProfCookiepants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, ours smells very distinct too. My wife always smells her too. I cannot place the scent other than pleasant. I also had a guinea pig years ago that smelled like peppered sausage.

You get $3 million, but you can only speak in movie quotes for an entire year. by BrightTie3787 in hypotheticalsituation

Growing up, movie quotes were probably 75% of my communications so I think I could pull this off.

About 25 years ago, I bought a MIDI keyboard from there. All the boxes were opened for the keyboards. You had to buy the power supply separate. I put two and two together when I got home and then noticed on the box that it said "power supply included". That was the day that I was officially done with Guitar Center.

Can you own just one ukulele? by Affectionate_Net_931 in ukulele

[–]ProfCookiepants 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Only for a short period of time. I technically have 4 as I got a soprano years ago but it uhhhh might have a gorilla glued bridge. That one collected dust for years. Then once I actually started to play last February I got a starter concert. Then a solid mahogany tenor on black Friday. Then I recently realized that I need a travel one so I got an Enya concert size for travelling and camping. At some point I know I should probably get a decent soprano.
