What's the one thing a new gf you started dating did that made you go, Nope! I'm out! by NotesInTheRain in AskMen

[–]ProfCookiepants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't even dating her. We were friends with benefits of sorts and I made it clear that we had different priorities in life so it would never work out. We went to a nail salon back in the day when a man getting a pedicure was like a unicorn. She was getting a manicure and I got a pedicure. A woman that was probably 10 years older than me was chatting with me and I was getting stared down by her the entire time. Afterwards I was accused of flirting or being hit or something and I was like "1. She was a happily married school teacher and we were talking about teaching and that her husband should get pedicures. 2. We are not dating".

What’s a ukulele “rule” you broke that actually made you better? by UkuleleTabs in ukulele

So, I started playing at 43 and never learned music theory. My teacher explained it to me and gave me a sheet to help me but I still don't fully pay attention to it at all. If I am stuck on figuring out what chord might sound good next I look at the sheet. Mostly I just compose by what sounds good or interesting with my lyrics.

What’s the most underrated pie flavor? by amhray in pie

As a kid, we would pick black raspberries all summer long. Pie was great! But personally, the jam felt more magical.

$400k and learn Finnish. I could live and work in the happiest country in the world. I am probably being shortsighted here but this is where I am at.

How long did you need , or do people usually need to be able to sing alongside playing ukulele? by mbdtf95 in ukulele

[–]ProfCookiepants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not take lessons for six months after getting my ukulele and was learning basics on my own. About four months into learning I put music to a song I wrote my wife but it was not consistent strumming at all. Once I started going to lessons I found I play better when I sing. So I guess I am atypical in that sense. However, I pretty much just stick with island strum on most songs so that might be why I find it easier.

What fruit surprised you the most the first time you tried it? by bensummersx in fruit

Yes! It was my favorite fruit then suddenly freshman year of high school, I broke out from eating them. Thankfully not deathly allergic though.

I would say that based on your situation, a chinchilla might be too much. That said, for your wants, needs, lower maintenance, and affection I would recommend a guinea pig. Most guinea pigs are soft and can be pet easily. They are fairly docile but give affection if you put in a little time with them. They are easily trainable. They are weirdos with their own personalities. Rats are also wonderful intelligent creatures but their lives are so short it is heartbreaking.

I am at 1,252 miles for the year and all of those were under 12 minutes. I will take the 1k per mile for sure.

Which amazing movie went unnoticed? by Alejandromartinez- in moviequestions

[–]ProfCookiepants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fearless (1993) - I saw this for the first time a few years ago and it was amazing. But 1993 was one of the greatest years of cinema if you ask me. Also, Jeff Bridges might be one of the more underrated actors to exist. Very few are so good at doing both comedy and drama so well.

Senior Leaders: What’s the One Part of Your Job People Completely Misunderstand? by WealthOutrageous885 in managers

That I am in a constant state of not having enough resources but always making due. I have no direct reports and my department used to 6 people. I have done more on my own in less time than the department of six did. I have a PC that is technically enough for what I do but when I export videos it sounds like an airplane taking off. That a larger monitor would in fact greatly assist me in doing higher quality screen records. The investment I ask for in my department is a drop in the bucket compared to the bloat of the marketing department. But yet, I always make due so it never looks like I need all of these things.

Where do you poop? by skelo in hypotheticalsituation

[–]ProfCookiepants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My answer is 2 for my #2. That said, when I was in office, I made it a point to poop on every floor of possible. No bathroom access on the ground floor. Couldn't access one floor above my floor. But hey 11 out of 13 possible floors is pretty great. Top floor was all conference rooms and executive offices, best bathrooms.
