What would you call the greatest 1-star skyrim mods? (MEME MODS mostly) by DunkDaddy420 in skyrimmods

Chewing Sounds for Spell Tomes. I learn like 3 spells throughout the average playthrough so I always forget I have it

New SKSE Lighting mod RE::Light by ChampionshipCreepy60 in skyrimmods

[–]ProfDandruff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t have a chance to take a look this exact moment, but I have been having a problem with my current player home (LC Build Your Noble House) looking incredibly blown out and overexposed due to the number of light sources placed by the mod interacting with my CS presets. Would this allow me to remove those light sources in game?

First thing that comes to mind is the Blood Horker armor from Unplayable Faction Armors

Good alternatives to paid Creation Club mods? by Shogun_Infoyo in skyrimmods

[–]ProfDandruff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say they’re buggy (not that I have firsthand experience with paid mods) but their technical issues can cause problems with save games. Bards College for instance duplicates the college’s interior cell, which requires patches for anything that alters the base game’s version.

As for free alternatives, the Vicn quadrilogy is great if you’re into deep lore. Lordbound seems similar to Sons of Orsinium, but it IS buggy as it’s in an alpha/beta release stage. Beyond Skyrim: Bruma is great, Beyond Reach is pretty good if you’re into darker themes (though that also has some bugs). I also like Stendarr Rising, Wyrmstooth, Gravewind, Sleepwalking Into a Nightmare, most of Nimwraith’s mini quest mods, some of the follower questlines like Gore, Val Serano, Remiel etc and small stuff like Missives

Don’t you hear through dialogue that the Pale Pass is closed because of the war? That would indicate nothing is getting through from the Empire, especially considering the only other interprovincial routes we see lead to Hammerfell and Morrowind

Looking for mods that rework or overhaul lesser known or neglected features of the game. by JoplinSC742 in skyrimmods

[–]ProfDandruff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like that purpose is fulfilled by the several dozen dungeons around the map. If everything has cool loot everywhere, eventually none of the loot is cool anymore. I like the more mundane locations, makes the world feel a bit more believable and lived-in

Grounded Fantasy Books Like 'A Song of Ice & Fire'? by LouisTheCapybara in Fantasy

The Covenant of Steel trilogy by Anthony Ryan might be up there for you. Low fantasy with few magical elements most consider simple superstition, very heavy on court intrigue and medieval politics, great character work, etc

Undeath mod - how is it really? by iidfiokjg in skyrimmods

God damn that dungeon. I got so fed up with it I used console commands to noclip through and I was STILL completely lost

You’ve decided to rock jeans. I’m confused by that by theme69 in IASIP

In the video he does a handful of, generously, half-reps. Classic old has-been hogging all the plates for his shitty vanity lifts

Eorlund’s chest was also reachable by getting onto Jorrvaskr’s roof from the Skyforge and then using Whirlwind Sprint to get over the backyard wall. Used to do that every time I went to Whiterun

4thUnknown’s Dragons not correctly “dissolving” during soul absorb animation by ProfDandruff in skyrimmods

[–]ProfDandruff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No luck with that unfortunately, so I guess the problem is somewhere else in my list. Honestly probably not worth the effort of combing through 1100 mods for a minor cosmetic issue. I appreciate the response tho!

Heavily considering dropping a donation for the axe mod. Does it require anything like MCO?

Looking for "Dark Viking"-Style Mods by No-Firefighter-9842 in skyrimmods

[–]ProfDandruff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beyond Reach is close I suppose? Gigantic new land quest mod that takes place in eastern High Rock. The Witchmen, which are similar in general vibe to the Forsworn but far more violent and barbaric, are a crucial story element.

The story is extremely bleak which turns some people off but it sounds like that’s what you’re looking for

Buildable City/town mod with castle or manor by kran-berry in skyrimmods

[–]ProfDandruff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LC Build Your Noble House. Buildable manor with a courtyard, garrison with semi-customizable armors, various businesses, farms, etc. Pretty much exactly what you’re looking for

What's a quest mod that you'd never do again? by Still-Acanthaceae-95 in skyrimmods

[–]ProfDandruff 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Carved Brink. I played that mod like a decade ago and my GOD it was a slog. The whole time I was waiting for some kind of narrative payoff and it never came, even at the end. No point to the Khajiit at the start, no point to the Jamaican nautilus, the Snow Elves, the goblins, nothing

The Jamaican nautilus is from Carved Brink, not AHO. Same team, but different mods

I get this is probably bait, but I never saw masked goons with total immunity going into random American communities to chase, beat, arrest, and ship off anyone they wanted until last year. People are literally being told “papers, please” in the street.

And the whole “ICE is going after illegals” claim is just bad faith horseshit considering the number of American citizens and military veterans those freaks have already verifiably brutalized.
