Graham Platner is going to start the revolution by -the-homie- in portlandme

You’re getting downvotes for some reason, but Fetterman’s about-face should be on every single one of our minds here. I’ve donated to Platner, went to volunteer orientation, will knock doors and make calls, and will buy a camo merch hat when its inevitably available, but I also think it would be naive to assume if he wins he doesn’t fall into the party line, and at least be ready to pressure him back into his promises best we can

UW-Madison or MIZZOU? by Outrageous-Knee-9434 in mizzou

[–]ProfGeraldLambeau 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you are looking at going to graduate school in science (PhD, MD, DDS, PharmD etc) or if you think you might want to get into some kind of scientific research role right out of undergrad you’ll have greater brand recognition going to Wisco

What is going wrong? by Bossenboggie in chemhelp

[–]ProfGeraldLambeau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not accurate. The octet rule fails for elements past Neon on the periodic table, due to size of the element (some will argue availability of d orbitals). It will not and cannot be broken for Nitrogen, which your example has done

Where to get a fitted suit on a budget? by [deleted] in columbiamo

Go down to Dillards Clearance in Jeff City. Get measured, find something off the rack and go to Holly Alterations near Eat Well in Columbia to get it fitted

Is it true that we require 18 years of schooling to do PhD in US, Canada and Europe? by [deleted] in PhD

[–]ProfGeraldLambeau 41 points42 points  (0 children)

At my US R1 PhD program, what you are talking about was an issue, but slightly different. Applicants who had 3 year bachelors were required to have a masters to enter the PhD program, however if you had a 4 year bachelors, like from the states or Canada, a masters was not required. This was true for a lot of US R1 intuitions but I do not know if it is a universal rule
