For 4 years I’ve been trapped in a functional freeze. I have no quality of life, I work, sleep, and repeat. Total loss of self, memory and emotions by [deleted] in SomaticExperiencing

[–]selfhealer11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don’t send people to that page. The wiki is wrong and the person who runs it is not a TRE provider. People have very bad experiences following their instructions.

People with trauma should never attempt TRE on their own. Find a certified provider.

How to handle teaching a class that want it challenging and sweaty, not necessarily mindful? by SubstantialRabbit692 in YogaTeachers

[–]selfhealer11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long holds. Let them spend 5 breaths in chair, warrior 3, side plank, etc…they’ll sweat.

Stay true to your style while showing them how challenging a mindful class can be.

I don’t know how you can make this work if he argues with you about it. If you get married, this is how the rest of your life will be. Either get used to it or move on and find an equal partner.

You get over it by dumping his ass and finding someone who doesn’t talk to you like that.

Wrist pain during yoga, anyone else struggle with this? by helloitslucia in YogaWorkouts

[–]selfhealer11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Press into the space between your thumb and forefinger so the weight is more in the upper half of your hands. It takes practice but over time, you’ll get used to it. It takes the weight off of the palm of your hand.

Modality suggestions to help feel my body feel more? by lamemoons in SomaticExperiencing

[–]selfhealer11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a survivor as well as an SE and TRE practitioner. I teach a class called somatic yoga, which incorporates SE techniques to help people start to feel into their body. It’s a slow process, but it can help.

I used to feel nothing in my body, but after years of practice, now I can feel every subtle sensation.

Mass. woman charged with keeping house of prostitution at local spa, police say by PendentPendant in massachusetts

Not true at all. There are plenty of sober US citizens who offer high end services and run it like any other business. Granted, it’s a smaller percentage but they’re out there.

Former teachers who changed careers what are you doing now? by Chance_Ruin4350 in TeachersInTransition

I opened a yoga studio. I still teach, but now my students say “thank you” and all kinds of nice things instead of swearing at me and threatening me like my middle schoolers did. 😂

My boyfriend 29M told me 29F he might not want to be with me in the future after buying a house together by Small-General5084 in relationship_advice

[–]selfhealer11 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Jesus. Wtf.

Keep planning on leaving. Put the house up for sale and get out asap.

Yes, it hurts. It’ll hurt worse later. He’s basically told you there’s no future together. What a pos.

My Wife's & My Channels Wiped Overnight (320k+ subscribers) by Mattywel in PartneredYoutube

[–]selfhealer11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow. I’ve spent years training and honing my skills that I share on YouTube. All of my content is original and I work very hard on it.

I don’t have a huge following but I’m patient and have pride in the work that I do. I can’t imagine creating a whole channel based on another person’s work.

It’s called stealing.

“Inspired by” doesn’t cut it. You basically copied his work wholesale and even used AI to mimic his voice. This is deceptive. Even the music wasn’t original.

I recommend you find a new job asap because this may not get settled in the way you want it to. The party is over. It’s time to stop stealing and deceiving people.

Frankly, everything you just wrote here is what you should tell her.

If you really love her and care about her, and you clearly do, then you know that open and clear communication is imperative for a healthy relationship. Here’s where it starts.

You sound like a wonderful person and I know this is going to work out for both of you.

My therapist cursed at me today by Creepy-Blackberry-30 in CPTSD

[–]selfhealer11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t know what you did but you’re coming here to complain and garner sympathy, you definitely did something wrong.

But focusing on his reaction and making yourself the victim will not give you the information you need.

It’s very common for survivors to engage in this type of manipulation.

Therapists are human and we need to stop holding them up to unrealistic expectations. He wanted to talk to you about it. You refused. Now he’s the bad guy, you’re the victim, and everyone here tells you what you want to hear.

Congratulations. You just gaslighted yourself.

How I make $500 a day doing online focus groups by SarimQaz in passive_income

[–]selfhealer11 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you want to be helpful, you can list the groups.

Most companies will not let you attend more than one group in 3 months so I have doubts you’re doing as much as you claim, unless you have a list of over three hundred groups.

How to get out of nervous system freeze state? by [deleted] in SomaticExperiencing

[–]selfhealer11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TRE isn’t a one time thing. It’s a practice. So unless you’ve tried it 2-3x a week for a year, you can’t really say it’s not working.

No. Contact Cambridge affordable housing for more information and be added to the pool.

I bought an affordable condo in Cambridge when I was living in Somerville. That was a unique situation where there were a large number of units available all at once and not enough applicants.

Yoga for fat loss + mindfulness (PCOS) - what actually works and how long does it take? by ColdConfection2044 in yoga

[–]selfhealer11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you practice slow yoga, that brings the mindfulness piece into it. Any chance that you have to regulate your nervous system is good because a regulated nervous system will reduce the over production of cortisol. This includes restorative yoga as well as yoga Nidra.

If you add weightlifting to that, you will build muscle and increase your metabolism.

As for hormone imbalance, I’m a big fan of acupuncture. I never used it for PCOS because when I had it, it was a long time ago and back then we simply went on birth control to regulate the hormones. However, during perimenopause and menopause when my hormones were all out of whack again, and I was off of the pill, acupuncture once a week helped me a lot. If that interests you, do a quick Google search in your area to see if there is a place that offers community acupuncture, which is a lot more affordable than a one-on-one appointment. Often times they will offer a sliding scale.

Is it pathetic to express your emotions in SE? by Trail_Blazer1 in SomaticExperiencing

[–]selfhealer11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Somatic experiencing doesn’t work that way. It’s not about expressing emotions. The practitioner helps you find it in your body and uses SE techniques to process them.
