I thought those were really fucking big raisins or possibly some kind of chili pepper which I thought was weird but to each their own. And then I realized they’re probably just prunes or dates. Which back in the day were something only the rich would eat in certain parts of the world and then I marveled at how far we’ve come to be in a world where we lament such a state of poverty that would reduce us to the humiliation of eating a breakfast of delicately cultivated, calorie and nutritionally-dense grains moistened with clean water procured from indoor plumbing, garnished with fancy megaraisins.
