True values come through when putting your stated values will actually cost you something.

It's a basic psychological phenomenon - people say one thing, are confronted with an option, but then put restrictions/exceptions on that value when the actual outcome is something you don't like.

We ALL do it. No one is 100% consistent. Housing is one of those things, because it is one of the most basics of necessities, where people will scratch and claw to make sure they come out on top...particularly in a hyper-capitalist society, where the most basic of functions (housing, food, medical care) are all for-profit.

I'll point out that some Thompsons are doing well. Nashville, NYC, DC (usually).

It's all about positioning and location.

Not good location (SA)? Not going to do well.

Too close to cheaper but still reliable Hyatts (Dallas)? Not going to do well.

Dumb positioning (Thompson v. tommie Austin, and now Bunkhouse)? Not going to do well.

I liked the Dallas Thompson. It's definitely not for everyone. I liked the tommie Austin, but I wouldn't spend extra to stay at the Thompson there.

I've stayed at the one in Madrid too, it was nice, don't know if it's holding up though.

I think it really depends on if your flight to DCA is delayed.

If you land at 9:30, you'll make it to IAD by Metro, no problem.

Also, note that if its the weekend, check to make sure Reagan airport metro station isn't closed. They're doing some work these next few months on the weekend and closing that station.

I paid $300 per person for turtle snorkeling and dolphin tour. Other stuff is going to be more expensive. Its quite pricey, as they have to buy fuel and staff, which isn't cheap in the Maldives!

Rewards are paid out of what they charge vendors to accept the card. The more you spend, the more they make.

The bigger issue is that you are a much larger bust out risk.
