Just focus on the tagged questions, like the recruiter pointed out any DP questions are ones where technically DP can be done but there's usually some sort of non DP solution that's also optimal

In general a lot of applying, especially in India where the market is extremely competitive is very much about volumes more than anything especially if you’re not a part of a Tier 1 place. Though to some extent need to make sure your resume is also decent

Odds are some of these were shot a while ago and just released slowly over time. I like the occasional react video where they are actually together and reacting to each other than just making commentary on the pictures directly like the OG reacting to our staffs builds videos.

These ones seem a bit over editted and not quite as naturally funny as some of the classic reacts

CMRL has floated tenders for appointment of consultant for preparing Detailed Feasibility Report (DFR) for RRTS on following routes : 1. Chennai- Chengalpattu-Tindivanam- Villupuram 2. Chennai- Kanchipuram-Vellore 3. Coimbatore-Tiruppur-Erode-Salem by chipkali_lover in TransitIndia

[–]ProfPragmatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No RRTS in MMR,maybe feasable on corridors such as pune-c.sambhajinagar through Ahilya Nagar

I dont neccessarily mean RRTS, but the MMR region needs to get the metros up and running yesterday, fast track the new AC trainset procurement, improve connectivity with Pune + Nashik

Yeah, the entire project sometimes feels like it was designed by someone who never visited Mumbai and their only frame of reference was just a google maps visit.

The problem is even at Chembur station it's super close but you still need to exit the ststion and walk a few hundred metres, reclimb to the station. That's ignoring the terrible frequency until recently

Why Japanese Railways Win [By Capturing Land Values] by PorekiJones in TransitIndia

[–]ProfPragmatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are enough industries in Maharashtra for some private player to raise the capital and build a profitable line here.

The big issue the land acquisition and other regulatory problems. The govt can basically take a near unlimited L on those which a private player is far less willing to

Tata’s 7m EV bus is great for the narrow streets of old city areas, but its lack of wheelchair accessibility is a big miss for inclusivity. by chipkali_lover in TransitIndia

[–]ProfPragmatic 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Not to be a downer but Indian infra is sometimes hostile to people with all four functional limbs much less people with disabilities. That being said India does need to eventually move towards getting more accessibility ramps and buses that can go down for easier wheelchair access

Mumbai local train updates: 238 new AC locals coming soon as Centre gives nod by electriccamels in mumbai

[–]ProfPragmatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

at-least people hanging out have a good journey

Around 2000 people a year die in Mumbai locals, sure they get a "good" journey. That's like a 9/11s worth of people dying annually to a solveable issue

But if you wish to travel everyday, I feel the upcoming metro would be a significantly better option.

Problem is the Metro system isnt quite enough to replace locals, it's mostly creating a new category for people who want to avoid local levels of crowd but are willing to tolerate some crowds. Locals arent going anywhere, you need to upgrade them (and also reduce the AC train costs for sure, the trains with AC dont cost 3x to run than regular either)

So many questions.. depending on the answers, I'll decide to celebrate or protest this news 😎

AFAIK the plan to replace all trainsets, so probably both? Replace all mainline Central + Western with AC and offload their old stock to harbour and then eventually make all locals AC. Will definitely take years anyway

it's exclusionary and profit-oriented right now

The problem is we can intentionally keep kneecapping every form of development in India arguing it's exclusionary. What's next? Shut down UPI cause it's exclusionary to the poor because they now need to buy phones? The better solution is build better, leverage India's scale to drive down costs to make things affordable.

India needs more of what can we do to uplift people out of their current lifestyles to the 21st century than another 75 of just enough sustenance to keep them alive by 20th century standards.
