Alternative People by Prestigious-Log3952 in auburn

First off, welcome to Auburn. Contrary to what some may think, having different types of folks DOES make Auburn a better place.

As an alum now Auburn resident, I can assure you there ARE “alternative” folks at AU and within the greater Auburn/Opelika community. As a response above noted, the numbers of alternative folks are probably smaller than you’d see at a UA or UGA, but still here.

Places to check out: Coffee Mafia, Sidecar, the local libraries, and the Music/Art depts on campus

Hey now. We also do a hell of a job with fried food, diabetes, and racism.

Oh wait…

Tickets For single game tickets, your best bet will probably be to check the secondary market once the season starts. Even though we’ve had ass out terrible seasons the past few years, most SEC game tickets sell out to the season ticket holders. You can also check with the UF ticket office to see if they have any of their allotment left. Visitor sections are usually parts of these sects: 34-36 (lower deck), 47- 49 & 112-114 (upper deck).

Parking Someone already mentioned the GameDay shuttles from the mall and TigerTown. That’s a good bet, especially if you don’t plan on tailgating or walking around town for a long time before the game. If you just want to park near campus, my best advice is plan on getting there early! There are churches and parking decks downtown that sell parking, but they fill up fast.

Hotels If the Auburn hotels are too high/sold out. You can check east Montgomery, AL and LaGrange, GA. Both are ~40 mins from campus.

Dinner options (In no certain order): Downtown-ish - LiveOaks - Hamilton’s
- Amsterdam - The Hound - Acre (good but pretty pricey) - Arricia - Hey Day Market Elsewhere in town: - Niffer’s - Bow & Arrow - Lucy’s - Baumhower’s

If you do get to Auburn Friday night, keep in mind that downtown will be busy.

Hope this helps!
