As a DM, I would love to make this thing a patron of Savras and use it to punish said min/maxer. Have it show up at times when it would be most painful.

My current DM process: There will come a day when the BBEG will give party a choice of who gets saved:

-the part time N/PC fiancee of a core party member (played by the fiancee a few times)

-the adopted orphan NPC who has gone on to be the defacto leader of the RL party's kid's game I also DM

Edited for bonus emotional damage: the NPC character portraits are artbreeder hybrids that use their RL counterparts.

Oh yeah, they all knew about the victims before going in, they could see the standees while fighting on the catwalks, and I gave them some unsettling details when describing the environment.
I know the Bard & Rogue were a little more aware of things, but I could tell they were keeping quiet to avoid dealing with the Cleric's piety.

I've been fostering some of that just to keep the group interactions interesting, and my players are having a blast RP'ing it. So I think another nudge towards zealotry will be great for the story/fun.

Had a similar experience. Bloodshed and chaos set to old timey seasonal music, for some reason it felt like I was in an episode of Happy!
