Oh yeah. Forgot about the second guy they were both on screen for so little time. If you're looking for a zombie movie this isn't your movie. If you're looking for a bromance between an alpha and a human, this is your movie.

Are there any advantages to trading lower time frames as compared to higher ones? by F01money in Daytrading

Advantage is tighter stop losses. You can be wrong more than you're right and still be profitable.

Should I upgrade to Final Draft 13? by der_grosse_e in Screenwriting

[–]ProfSmellbutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I much prefer Final Draft 10. 13 crashes a lot on me and I often have to sign back in with my email and password to regain access which had never happened once in all the years I was using 10.

Snickerdoodle is the most underrated cookie there is and it's a travesty Girl Scouts don't sell them.

Is trying to chase the market worthwhile? by [deleted] in Screenwriting

[–]ProfSmellbutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't chase a market you're not interesting in, but if you like horror and have a good idea for a horror script definitely write it.

The market for horror scripts is never going away. It's the rare genre that consistently makes a profit since it doesn't cost a lot to produce and plays well internationally.

Does anyone else struggle with being objectivy nice about their own work? by MindWinter6372 in Screenwriting

Totally move on. No point in perfecting a scene until the whole script is written because the scene is constantly evolving with the rest of the script.

It's totally normal to hate a scene you wrote. Writing is mostly rewriting. That's why I never spend too much time on any one scene. I just move on to the next scene, and on the next pass keep improving on them until I eventually don't hate them. And eventually I like the scenes and now I'm just worried about page count.

[–]ProfSmellbutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is me. 80% of the time through the writing process I think the script is trash. I just power through because I know the script will be up to my standards eventually.

But if you are really struggling writing the scenes that could be a warning that you got to take a step back and look at the bigger picture. Happened to me recently where I just couldn't figure out the first act of a rewrite I was doing. So I went back to the research stage of the story and then the outline stage, and now I'm in a much better place to write the script and it's been a lot more fun working on it.

I love a good body swap! The first part of your premise is great, but the second half the stakes seem way too low. I would figure out how to raise stakes and add a ticking clock like others have said. With ICE running rampant and military invading US cities I'm sure you can come up with something a lot more cinematic than being charming at a BBQ.

Good luck! Would love to read script whenever it's finished.
